That right there is a source of great annoyance for me. Red Carpet Manicure’s Cavier Dreams. Yup. They misspelled caviar. I mean, I hope that I’m just unaware of something called cavier that one has dreams about, but I think that they just didn’t have the spellcheck on.

Normally, this wouldn’t annoy me that much—well, OK, it would, but less so—but I have to input it into my database with the misspelling and all. AAAAAAAAUGH. (Please check out the nail polish database if you’re a collector, though! I am really aiming to get the beta testing up and running within the next couple of months, and a revamp to make it mobile-friendly is coming very soon.)

OK. Deep breath. Red Carpet Manicure is mostly known for their LED Gel Polish, but they also have this regular nail polish line that I tried when Well.ca started selling them. I bought a few when they were on sale, then later on they started to go on clearance, and I bought a few more. Now they’re like, giving them away at CA$2.50, so I ordered a few more. Hey, I wasn’t on my low-buy, yet!

So I have a whole bunch of these to swatch! I have no real organized way to group these shades, so I’ll just randomly post about them as I swatch them.

The second polish in this post is Overnight Sensation. Thankfully, its name is spelled correctly.

I’ll start with Cavier Dreams [sic], though. Ahem. It’s basically the color of overcooked liver. I love liver and all (liver ‘n’ onions, liver pâté, give it to me!), so that’s my first thought. Overall, a taupe-grey-with-a-touch-of-purple cream.

I actually kind of dig it. The formula is pretty good for a drugstore-priced polish. Two coats was all I needed for full opacity, and the application was nice and even. I will only quibble slightly about the brush (short and a bit wide, so I guess some people may like it) and the cap. I hate these big square caps that don’t line up properly with the bottle. Also, the cap is a bit unwieldy to hold as you’re applying polish. This isn’t Chanel-quality multi-caps we’re talking about here, and I wouldn’t expect it for under $10, but they should choose a different cap design.

Overnight Sensation is a mid-to-deep blue shimmer that leans teal, but it has purple iridescence. Very nice! I couldn’t quite capture the flash in my photo, but you can see the purple iridescence in the bottle. I had decent application with this one, with two to three coats being full coverage.

Red Carpet Nail Lacquer retails for US$8.00 / CA$9.00 and is 0.5 US fl oz / 15 mL. It is made in the USA.

I could not find out the ingredient list either on my bottles or on their website, so I do not know whether they are 3-free. OK, so I finally got the invisible label peeled off and took a photo of the microscopic ingredient list. It does appear to be free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP):
