Last month, I got re-nominated for two awards!
Katie from Plus+ Beauty nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Thelma & Louise from Mascara On the Run nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award.
Mant thanks to both bloggers! I am so grateful for your support! ๐ Please do go check out both blogs: they are full of great beauty tips and reviews that I love to read every week.
Versatile Blogger Award Rules
Since I am combining two awards in one posts, I am going to combine the 7 things about myself with the 10 questions asked for the second award. (Honestly I’m just really running out of interesting facts about myself. LOL. Unless you really want to know what I had for breakfast or something.)
Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award Questions from Mascara On the Run
1) If you could only have makeup from one brand who would it be and why?
I’ll be unimaginative and go with MAC. Huge variety of products and colors. Second place would be Lancรดme, just because I like their Teint Miracle foundation.
2) You are on a desert island and can only choose one—do you take lipstick or mascara?
Lipstick. A moisturizing one would double as a lip balm. And in a pinch, I suppose you could write an SOS sign with it. Or eat it.
3) Beach or the mountains and why?
Mountains. I’m not a huge fan of hot weather (assuming the beach is in a hot place).
4) Favorite “healthy” food?
5) Hardest thing about blogging?
Keeping up with the schedule you’ve chosen! But I live to procrastinate, so it’s more of a problem for me than it is for someone who is very organized.
6) What famous person do you wish read your blog?
The Queen of England. Wouldn’t that be a hoot? (OK, OK, Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations!) I wonder whether she’s wearing nail polish under those gloves she’s always got on.
7) Who is the most important female role model in your life?
My mom is so hard-working. She has many wonderful traits, but this is the one I wish I got from her. I can be hard-working, but she’s like that with pretty much everything she takes on. It’s so admirable.
8) Mexican or Italian food?
I have never had authentic Mexican, but I have had authentic Italian, and the latter is for me one of the world’s best cuisines. Dear lord, I would eat it every day. I do love me some Tex-Mex, though!
9) What is the most you would ever spend on a single beauty product?
Not including perfume, I would not really spend more than around $100 on a palette, though it’d have to be one helluvan (can I do that? “helluva+an”?) awesome palette. I did just order this during MAC’s recent sale (after the discount and tax, it was still under CA$100…darn Canadian prices):
10) Heels or sneakers?
Heels! I literally own one pair of Nikes that I bought in high school. They’re totally retro, now. (I don’t really count fashion sneakers like Superga, of which I have a few pairs.) But, to be honest, I don’t wear heels anywhere near as much as I did in my twenties. I’m a flats girl in my thirties. I even feel a bit clumsy in heels now. I guess it’s not like riding a bicycle. You lose those heel-strutting muscles, man!

” And in a pinch, I suppose you could write an SOS sign with it. Or eat it.”
How many calories in a lipstick though. I do like the idea of writing SOS w/ lipstick! ๐
LOL Queen is rocking Illamasqua Phallic under those gloves! ๐
“helluvan” is totally legit. Use it with wild abandonment. ๐

Good question…Wikipedia says there’s more oil (like castor oil or pig fat in US-made lipsticks) in sheer and long-lasting lipsticks than in matte or cream lipsticks. I imagine oil is the biggest component of lipstick that we can actually digest. But that also depends on what type of oil is used, as we can digest castor oil and animal fats, but not mineral oil or jojoba oil…..
Oh I hope she’s wearing something as saucy as Phallic! LMAO!
