Brand: Coco & Lulu (by Cake Beauty)

In last week’s Canada Day post, I reviewed two of three polishes from a Coco & Lulu Paris-themed set. The brand is unfortunately not available any longer, but I thought I’d just finish up the set and review the third polish.

I really wish that the line had been kept by Indigo/Chapters (who sold it) and Cake Beauty (who made it)! All three are nice polishes and I would liked to have checked it out some more if it’d stuck around past 2014.

The last of the three polishes in my set is called Eiffel Tower. I’ve never seen the Eiffel Tower up close during the day (we made it once at night, but it was closed…the lights were pretty!), so I don’t know how close this is to the color of the actual structure. It’s an appropriately romantic notion and a very pretty color, regardless.

Eiffel Tower is a striking deep pewter with swirls of antique golden-green, and fine, metallic shimmer. I didn’t want to brighten up the swatch photo too much, as the sparkle was getting washed out, so the photo is a little dimmer than usual.

The formula is a pleasure to use, and two coats is perfect. Metallic streaking is fairly minimal. If you ever see this one sitting in a clearance box at Indigo/Chapters, snap it up!

Coco & Lulu 3 Free Nail Lacquers were 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL and retailed for CA$8.50. They were sold exclusively at Indigo/Chapters bookstores in Canada. The formula was free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Cake Beauty, the company that created the line, is cruelty-free, so I assume that Coco & Lulu was, as well. The nail lacquers, unlike Cake Beauty’s regular line, were made in the USA.
