Post a Quote Challenge: Day 3

Stashmatters has tagged me to do the Post a Quote Challenge!

The rules are simple: post a quote each day for three days, and tag another blogger to do it each day. I guess you’re actually supposed to tag three bloggers per day, but that seems excessive to me. One quote, one tag! 😀

Today, I am tagging: mrsstrawberryblonde!

My third and last quote is from the classic Mel Brooks comedy, Spaceballs. It’s a Star Wars spoof starring Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, John Candy, and Rick Moranis as the villain who utters my favorite line from an immensely quotable movie.

And now, to end Post a Quote Challenge on a sad note. Rick Moranis, the Toronto-born comedian who appeared in many memorable movies from my childhood (The Ghostbusters movies, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, L.A. Story, and Spaceballs, to mention a few), retired from Hollywood in the 1990s to raise his two children after his wife died of cancer. What a dad!

He still occasionally does voices for animated projects, like Brother Bear, so it’s nice to see that he hasn’t completely disappeared from moviemaking.

I never did see Little Shop of Horrors, so I think I’ll rectify that this weekend.

Thanks for reading! And thanks to Stashmatters for the tag!

  1. I remember googling Rick Moranis to find out what he was up to and learning about how he dedicated himself to being a full time dad. That’s so sad but what a great person. I love Little Shop of Horrors!
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was THE movie of my childhood! I remember going to MGM Studios and they had a green screen where you pretended you were flying on a bumblebee (my fake scared face was Oscar worthy). When I saw the preview for the upcoming Marvel Ant-Man movie, I said to my SO, “So, this is like Honey I Shrunk the Kids but with superheros instead?” 😛
