Chanel’s Blue Notes / Blue Rhythm collection for Summer 2015 introduced two vibrant blues, Fortissimo (a shimmer) and Vibrato (a cream).
Vibrato was exactly the kind of blue I was looking for, particularly after I’d ordered YSL Bleu Majorelle during a Hudson’s Bay sale, but due to a goof-up by either them or Canada Post, my order got returned and I didn’t bother to re-order.
This week, I’m covering the three polishes I picked up from SDM: Expression, Lavanda, and Vibrato.
Vibrato (665) is an medium-deep, vivid cobalt blue cream. If cobalt blue is what you’re after, this is a perfect example, color-wise.
The formula required three coats for full, even opacity. I found that Vibrato applied more nicely than yesterday’s Lavanda did, but it did have a tendency to leave a bald spot by the cuticle. Hardly a deal-breaker for a stunning color, though!
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour retails for US$27 / CA$31 and is 0.4 US fl oz / 13 mL. The polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and is made in France.
Chanel is a private company based in Paris, France.
