The Beauty Blogger Award 3: When Blogging Calls

Beauty Blogger Award

The lovely Chicandpolished just nominated me for another Beauty Blogger Award! I’ve done this a couple of times, so I won’t be nominating anyone else, but I wanted to quickly answer her fun questions, since I don’t have another post for Tag Tuesday!

Questions from Chicandpolished

You step into Sephora/drugstore, what section (brand/makeup item) do you rush for?

Nail polish, or lipstick. I’m also more attracted to new brands I haven’t tried before.

What is your favourite go to summer makeup product?

Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in Papaya is just the perfect summery orange lip color!

What is on your summer beauty product wishlist?

Charlotte Tilbury stuff—I just ordered the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Stoned Rose. Gotta love the Roses, too! Thanks to Nerdylibrariangirl for the heads up on Charlotte Tilbury Canada offering free shipping on any order in July (I know we’re in August, but they still are!).

What is a makeup product/trend you are looking forward to for the fall?

Browns seem to be coming back in. Always loved a dark brown nail, like Essie Nail Polish in Mink Muffs or The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Chocolate Cutie!

If you had your own beauty line that consisted of one beauty product, which product would it be (i.e., lipstick, nail polish, foundation, blush, perfume, etc)?

Nail polish, of course!

What is your favourite summer-fall transition nail polish colour?

A less-bright plum or teal, like Essie Flowerista or Misa Dirty, Sexy, Money.

What is your favourite summer pedicure colour?

Maybelline Juicy Tomato, Zoya Maura (hot warm reds), or China Glaze Passion in the Pacific (bright turquoise shimmer).

Summer eyeshadows, shimmer or matte?

Both! I don’t really change eyeshadow texture seasonally, though.

Bold lip, or “my lips but better” for everyday wear (name the corresponding lipstick colour)?

I prefer a bold lip, but generally do a MLBB for everyday wear. Recently, I’ve been favoring Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Fawn.

What is your opinion on the strobing trend, and do you “participate” in this trend?

Nay for me.

meme - y u so shiny
Arrrgh why didn’t they color in that last bit between the arms?!

Thanks again to Chicandpolished for nominating me, and thank you for reading!

  1. i lol’d at WHY SO SHINY???
Actually, strobing is very similar to contouring, only a lot more highlighter so yes, strobing makes faces look BIGGER! It will only work if we’re working on really small face. And we wouldn’t want to go out with really shiny face, right? like when we’re going out to buy some groceries. Don’t want to look like I smothered butter on my face. ✽_✽ ❤︎ <a href=”http://www.laineyloveslife.wordpress.com” target=”_blank”>laineyloveslife

    • Hahaha! OMG my face is so big. Highlighter isn’t really my thing, except used very judiciously (inner eye corners, etc.). 😀 I’m sure strobing looks lovely on those little pixie faces!

  2. Congrats!
Oooh CT lippy stuff – looking forward to seeing a review of that! (is it just me or anyone else started singing the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. song / rhyme?)
Re: pedicure colour: are your toes actually polished? 😮
Haha that cartoon! “Why DIDN’T they colour in between the arm” or why DID they colour in between the arms? Cuz I think they shouldn’t have coloured that little triangle portion in.

    • Haha, I didn’t think of the song, but that has to be the reference, right?

Pedi: Yeah, the YR gel polish in Blood Orange!

Cartoon: What, you start with a navy background?! 😀

        • Hahaha! Well, there’s definitely more navy than white. I guess I’m just coming from thinking they did it in Photoshop (or MS Paint, heh) and the background would have been white by default.

          Now I’m really overthinking this.
