Sale Alert! beautyBOUTIQUE.ca Has Launched — Get 8,000 SDM Optimum Points (Canada Only)

The online version of Shoppers Drug Mart’s beautyBOUTIQUE has launched! Read their press release here.

You will earn SDM Optimum Points with every purchase, and from August 7–14, 2015, you will receive 8,000 Optimum Points on your first purchase at the site. Use the code BRINGBEAUTYHOME and make sure your Optimum Card is linked at checkout.

It appears that beautyBOUTIQUE is also aiming squarely at Sephora Canada, by also offering free shipping with $75+ orders, and 3 free samples with every order.

I am all about the Shoppers Optimum Points, and have been so happy with my experiences shopping at multiple BeautyBoutiques, so I am really excited to try out the new site!

As an aside, the Shoppers-run Murale stores might not last much longer. I don’t see why Shoppers (or rather, their parent company, Loblaw) would maintain two store brands that basically do the same thing…

Some of the brands available at BeautyBoutique are Anna Sui, BeneFit, Bioderma, Biotherm, Bourjois, Clinique, Cover FX, Clarins, Elizabeth Arden, Estée Lauder, Korres, Lancôme, Lise Watier, Marcelle, No7, Nuxe, philosophy, Phyto, Pür Minerals, Quo, Shiseido, Smashbox, Soap & Glory, Stila, StreVectin, Vasanti, and many designer fragrance lines.

The lineup does differ a bit from that at Murale, which also offers brands like Bobbi Brown and Deborah Lippmann.

Hopefully, we’ll eventually see cosmetics from brands like Chanel, Guerlain, and Urban Decay show up here, since they are sold in some SDM stores.

Happy shopping!

  1. OMG FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for Shoppers’ online process to be more prominent for a while now. I just signed up for email offers!
To me, this is even better than Sephora because of the wide range of brands represented – I like the idea that I can get my drugstore and higher end makeup all in one place (well, once they get the other brands onboard – I think it’s a matter of time). And well, Optimum Points blows VIB points out of the water.
You make a good point about Murale – there’s really no reason for it to continue as a separate banner. Shoppers should just convert them over to full stand alone BeautyBoutiques to keep the branding consistency.
    Thanks for sharing this!

    • Oh yeah, VIB points suck. They also keep refusing to give me my points based on the Canadian dollar spend. I thought that was the way it was done until I found out otherwise, then had to email CS to update my points for me. And yet they continue to leave it unfixed on the website.

It would be awesome if beautyBOUTIQUE would start selling the non-prestige makeup! I’d love to have better selection online and not have to hit up multiple SDMs to find something. (Although they’d have to run the regular SDM sales, too.)
