Zoya — Darcy (Professional Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Zoya 2013 Summer, Stunning

I recently picked up six Zoyas during their Color Cube sale last month, and here’s the first swatch from that batch of colors.

Darcy (ZP663) is described by Zoya as a “sunny yellow cream”. That’s pretty much on the nose! It’s a bright, sunflower yellow cream that I don’t think I have an exact dupe for.

Application was pretty good, though I did need three coats to get everything just perfect. I usually find yellows quite tricky to apply, so this one definitely gets a pass.

    • Some of the names “make sense”, like America being a bright flag red, Amber being a sparkly amber, Apple being Granny Smith green, and Sienna being orange (I think I read somewhere that orange is Sienna Miller’s fave color? Or maybe I just think that because she appeared in ads for Hugo Boss Orange…). But they sometimes like to do the unexpected, like Kelly not being kelly green. I guess with the names that don’t necessarily bring to mind a color, they just randomly assign?
