I know this is really, definitely, indubitably not nail polish-related, but I just wanted to share it here. After all, color is our thing, right?
My favorite trashcan-maker (I know, that’s weird) has released a limited edition trashcan in rose gold.
LIMITED EDITION. Our new rectangular step can features an innovative ‘liner pocket’ that keeps liners at your fingertips for a faster liner change. Just slip a liner refill pack into the liner pocket to dispense fresh liners one at a time — no clumsy perforations or unraveling. The can’s stainless steel liner rim grips the liner and keeps it hidden. Strong wide steel pedal is designed to last, and our patented lid shox technology ensures a smooth, silent close every time.
Code K liner refill packs store perfectly in this can’s liner pocket.
We’ve bought three step cans from simplehuman over the last few years, and two are used regularly in our kitchen. They are really well-engineered and work just as trashcans should. The cans have little details that make using the trashcan an actual pleasure. It’s bizarre that a trashcan can inspire such devotion, but that’s what good design is all about!
(The second can we bought was a cheaper, less sturdy model that developed a broken hinge after two years. I contacted simplehuman about it but forgot to follow up. They did get on it super quickly, though, and sounded very willing to help. In the end, I just bought a third can with better, metal construction to replace it. In all, we have three cans in the kitchen: two by simplehuman for trash and compost, and a third by Umbra for recycling.)
Now, I don’t need a new 45L step can, but boy, would I like to have this one! I mean, it goes perfectly with my handbag:
The simplehuman Rectangular Step Can retails for US$80 and comes with a 5-year warranty. The company is based in Torrance, CA, USA.
