Collection: Yves Rocher 2015 Summer, Botanical Colour Nail Polish [Launch]
So, I’ve been completely smitten by Yves Rocher’s new line of Botanical Colour Nail Polish and I’ve taken advantage of their many sales and ordered even more colors. I mean, they end up coming in at around CA$3 a pop. What’s not to love?
Today, I’m reviewing Nigella Blue / Bleu nigelle (61).
Initially, all I could think of was the quite stunning English cookery host, Nigella Lawson (haha, she appears to be named for her dad, Nigel!), but a quick Google informed me that Nigella damascena is also the scientific name for a pretty, pale blue flower known informally as “Love-in-the-mist”.
Nigella Blue is well-named, as the polish is a bright sky blue cream with a touch of turquoise. It’s a really clean and balanced color.
Application is perfection, as it has been with most of these Yves Rocher polishes I’ve tried. Smooth as a baby’s butt. Two coats is fully opaque, and it dries to a nice, glossy shine.
A word about the brush: it is a wide paddle shape with a rounded end, and it makes application so, so easy, particularly if your nails are not teeny like mine are—but it still works well for me.
Yves Rocher Botanical Colour Nail Polish is 0.16 fl oz / 5 mL and retails for US$6 / CA$6 / UK£2.95 / EU€2.95. It is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and it is made in France.
Yves Rocher was founded in 1959. The company is based in La Gacilly, France.
Nigella Lawson was my first thought too! So much learning through YR nail polish names, huh!

This is such a pretty true blue colour! Don’t think I’d wear that colour in the coming two seasons, but it’s a change from your typical white based (pastel) shades and those minty shades.
