I’ve been double-nominated for another Liebster Award!
I think Jenni is probably the youngest blogger I’m following. She’s 13 but you wouldn’t necessarily know it from the way she writes. She’s a breath of fresh air, and I’m looking forward to more posts from her!
My fine blogging buddy Chubbychicsdiary recently nominated me, as well. She’s a wonderfully positive person and this always comes through on her blog!
Thanks so much to both of them for thinking of my blog, and please go and visit them, if you haven’t already!
Questions from Jenni
what are some of your hobbies?
I’m a huge movie/TV buff, and I collect nail polish.
what’s the best part about blogging?
Getting a bit of writing done, and discovering others’ blogs!
best part of summer so far?
It’ll be over, soon! The tail end has gotten way too hot for my liking, and I cannot wait for fall weather to return. Of course, we tend to jump straight from hot summer weather into cold winter weather here, with about a week or two of nice fall weather in between. It’s barely enough for my favorite season!
biggest worry at the moment?
I’m not getting enough sleep, which leads very directly to bad skin and weight gain, for me.
if you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Be omnipotent. Does that count as one superpower?
Not sure that I have a single favorite, but I’m quite fond of Tim Burton’s Ed Wood.
why did you start your blog?
I love nail polish, basically! That’s what my blog is all about. 🙂
who’s inspired you the most?
I’m not sure that any one person has inspired me a great deal. I take inspiration from many people and things. I’m probably just not focused enough! Hahaha.
if you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring?
Fully-loaded luxury yacht, someone who can and will operate the yacht, and $10 million dollars, ’cause that would be pretty handy once we get back to civilization.
OK, for real? Swiss Army knife. Flint & steel (that counts as one, it’s a set!). Hand-crank two-way radio.
your favorite books?
I have several, but a few are: The Alienist by Caleb Carr, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. (Clearly, I haven’t read enough since high school. Two of those were assigned reading!)
Questions from Chubbychicsdiary
What inspired you to put up a blog?
I was already swatching at MUA and decided to put up my photos and reviews on a blog, instead!
Who would you want to play you in a movie?
I’m not going to go with anyone who physically resembles me. I’ll pick someone I think is really talented 😀 and could do my RBF justice. Maybe Selma Blair, Alison Lohman, Rosamund Pike, or Christina Ricci. Hmm, I guess most of those ladies—all but Pike—are fairly petite, so there’s a very slight “resemblance”! I’m sure Hollywood would just go with Lucy Liu, though. Not that there’s anything wrong with Lucy Liu! I’m probably selling her short; she does pretty good RBF, too.
What’s on your no.1 makeup wish list?
Ooh, you gotta ask this when I’m on a low-buy, huh?! I would like NARS Audacious Lipstick in Audrey, one of the vampy Charlotte Tilbury matte lipsticks, and I already have Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Raisin Rage, but I cannot find it!!! It’s driving me insane.
Favorite makeup brand?
Not including nail polish, I’ll go with MAC for now. The sheer variety in their collection is stunning!
Favorite product endorsed by a celebrity?
Hilary Duff’s perfume, With Love… Discontinued, of course, because the perfume gods hate me.
What time do you usually do your blog?
All over the place.
Link to the favorite post that you’ve done.
Well, I don’t know if it was my favorite, but this was fun to do and it took forever. I got the tag for it from you, too!
What is your most prized makeup possession?
Lancôme 2000 et Une Rose in the original teardrop bottle. It was a gift from DH. We didn’t splurge too much on anything back in those days, so it meant a lot! Plus, it was very funny to imagine him at the Lancôme counter requesting a perfume.
They’ve since brought the fragrance back as Mille & Une Roses, but the bottle is different. I imagine the perfume, like so many others due to new IRFA regulations, has been somewhat reformulated, as well.
Describe yourself in three words
Skeptical. Empathetic. Silly.
Ever wanted for something that you didn’t have?
Sure, all the time. Sometimes it’s just fun to dream! I am generally very realistic and pragmatic when it comes to important things in life, however.
My 7 Nominees
I’m nominating a few great blogs I’ve recently discovered. The questions I answered were all a lot of fun, so please pick and choose 7 questions to answer from the two sets above! There is, of course, no obligation to actually do this award.
