Around this time last year, I posted a review for three Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquers: Black Tulip, Sky, and Wisteria. Since I’ve been trying to reswatch, I thought I’d start with these, since I feel they’re still a bit under the radar.
Collection: Crabtree & Evelyn 2013, Nail Lacquer [Launch]
Wisteria is a pretty smoked periwinkle-lavender with silver shimmer.
Two coats gives you full coverage. Application was reasonably nice; I have no complaints. It doesn’t dry to the shiniest finish, but a glossy top coat will fix that up.
The brush is standard: slim, slightly flat, and on the longer side.
From my initial review:
Overall, the quality of these polishes is average: the sparkle isn’t amazing, the cream finish isn’t super smooth, the polish can feel a little watery or goopy. The lasting power is just all right. But, they were on sale, 3 for CA$12, so I think that for the price, you get what you pay for. The bottle is actually pretty nice for a CA$4–$6 polish, though. I think these polishes are pretty average, but if C&E ever released some unique shades, I’d certainly pick them up.
The prices have since gone up by US/CA$2 a bottle, though I feel that purchased on sale (for around $6), these are still worth it.
Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer, 0.5 fl. oz. / 15 mL. MSRP was US/CA$6 at initial launch. Today, they are US$8, with an ongoing deal of Buy 2 Get 1 Free. The polish is formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), or camphor. It is made in the USA.
Crabtree & Evelyn was founded in Massachusetts in 1972 by Cyrus Harvey, who was also a prominent American film distributor. Harvey sold the company to Malaysia-based KLK Berhad in 1996; in 2012, the company was acquired by Khuan Choo International Ltd., based in Hong Kong. Crabtree & Evelyn maintains stores worldwide, and its base of operations is in Woodstock, CT, USA.
Such a pretty shade Chris ❤ I recently got the shade Petal Pink and that too was all goopy and a bit streaky at the same time. maybe now I will never pay the full price unless it’s on sale….

Oooh between you and chicandpolish, I want to try this brand of polishes now! Did you buy it from C&E store or elsewhere?

I got them in store – the online pics seemed pretty accurate, though! The sales were the same.

When I bought my lot of C&E polishes I was going to buy this one but I refrained since I have a colour similar-ish to it but more blue (so not really that similar). This one reminds me of sugar plum fairy dust haha 😛

Yes, it does! Which ones do you have? I only picked up three.

Oh shoot, I don’t know how I missed that! :O Oh Poppy and Cobalt are really pretty! I’m not sure why I haven’t gone back to C&E to get more colors. I remember hemming and hawing over which ones to pick 🙂

I also didn’t know that they have a nail polis line.
Is it coincidence but why I see so many Lilac polishes when it’s fall. I even had one on my toes. 😁

Very pretty. Also, I never knew C&E made nail polish! Haven’t used their products in a long time, but always enjoyed their hand cream!

Yes, they make such nice body stuff! I rarely go in – should make a trip ASAP. They have nice soliflore perfumes, too.

I will have to go to an actual physical store and see! I’d always get a few select goodies in random gift shops years ago, but sounds like they have a lot more in the store! 😀
