Zoya Professional Lacquer in Lianne

Zoya — Lianne (Professional Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Zoya 2008 Summer, Chit-Chat

I know summer’s well over, but orange is still a great color for the fall. The temperature has certainly dropped over here, and the weather has turned blustery and grey, but bright oranges are an easy way to celebrate Thanksgiving/Halloween and brighten up the rainy days.

Lianne (ZP447) is described by Zoya as a “juicy medium tangerine with fine gold shimmer”. It’s a sprightly, clean orange warmed up by loads of yellow gold shimmer. I find it a little reminiscent of candy corn, but that might just be my stomach talking after doing a bit of Halloween treat shopping!

Candy corn is one of those treats I wish I could hand out as part of a Halloween goodie bag, but they never seem to come in individually-wrapped packages! A shame, but I guess that leaves more room for Junior Mints, Cadbury Screme Eggs, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Rockets, and Tootsie Rolls…

Back to the polish! The formula is very good: two to three coats gets you full and even opacity. Lianne is a fine choice for those who love orange polish.

It is, however, discontinued by Zoya. (Revlon Tangerine is a reasonable alternative, though it is a touch more yellow than red.)

  1. Does anyone eat the candy corn? Gross. I also really dislike Tootsie Rolls but that could be by association since I ate a few of those and then proceeded to feel terrible… only to realize it was not from gorging on Halloween candies but that my appendix had ruptured! Ooh what a fun Halloween that year…

I’d like to lodge a complaint – there’s been FAR too many orange polishes featured on your blog lately! #halloweenproblems

    • Oh I love candy corn! I like to buy a small handful from the bulk section every Halloween just to get my annual fix. They do sell Christmas ones (“Reindeer” something), too, but I haven’t bothered with those. Not the same in red + green. I also love Tootsie Rolls, and the fruit ones are nice, too. I think I tend to have very different candy tastes from most people. Everyone goes for the chocolate, and I like all the random gummy things instead.

And hey, I haven’t done an orange since Sept 21 (Zoya Alma)! YR Capucine is more like a pinky coral, so that doesn’t count 😀 Suck it up, it’s fall! Time for orange and green! LOL

  2. I have mixed feelings about candy corn….a couple are okay…but then too many gives me stomach aches haha. I also like the concept of liking candy corn more than I actually like it.. 😛 I’ve actually found small packets of candy corn at the grocery store before! They do exist!

    • Yeah, I can’t eat too much sugar/candy at all – makes me feel nauseated. But I like to have a little every now and then. I can’t believe you’ve found pre-packaged candy corn! Now I have to go on a hunt…

  3. Not really an orange fan. I could still remember Joy’s comment about Alma. Still reminds me of Disney Princesses but hey, it’s still Halloween coordinated if you want some costume inspirations.😉
