Gosh is a Danish brand that is sold at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada. They’re sort of mid-range for a drugstore product, and though I haven’t tried any of their other makeup products, the price seems about right judging from the quality of the nail polish (about CA$7).
I actually got this particular polish for free. Turns out Shoppers was passing out free goodie bags near my husband’s office, and being a sucker for all manner of free things, he instinctively went to nab it. It contained a smattering of random drugstore products: he immediately ate the Ferrero Rocher, ignored the various creams and gels, and passed off this nail polish to me.
I already own about three Gosh polishes, so I was pretty stoked to see that this color is one that I don’t already have. Granted, it’s not a color I’d have bought for myself, but I ain’t arguing with free.
Boot Camp (011) is, as you’d expect, an army khaki green with strong golden olive shimmer.

They weren’t wearing “army green” back in 1848. Hi-res. Image: wikipedia.org
The formula is a tad more liquidy than I personally like, and as such, it has a slight tendency to pool against the cuticles. Aside from that, it applies quite nicely and is not too streaky for a heavily shimmered (though not quite frosty) shade. Two coats is fine, but I used three coats in my swatch to achieve a more intense color.
Gosh Nail Lacquer (English site) is 0.3 fl. oz. / 8 mL, and it retails for DKK 59.95 / $7 CA. They are free of formaldehyde, and are generally made in the EU. I’ve had a previous bottle that seemed to be made in Denmark; Boot Camp was made in France.
What! Shoppers never hand out goody bags where I am. Good on your hubs for picking this up for you – and you didn’t already own this one lol! I can’t believe he didn’t share chocolate with you though. 😮
The colour is just ok… nothing to write home about. I bet it would look interesting with a matte top coat.

I know, I’ve never seen SDM do this, either! I’m not a big choco person, so I’m fine with him nom-nom-ing all the chocolate! 😉

It’s the opposite for me – SO doesn’t care much for the choco but for me, it’s LIFE. He’d be in so much trouble if he ate chocolate without sharing with me! 😛

It’s actually great that way – I get the chips, he gets the chocolate, and we don’t need to squabble! 😀 You and I are lucky!

I’m not actually sure why they would call this green anything related to the military – as far as I know, the Danish military has never worn this kind of green…

I think it’s just the standard modern army fatigues that are shades of olive green/khaki. Definitely not an official/dress military uniform! 🙂

Love this khaki colour and this shade is so unique as it has shimmery shade along with that too.

It is a bit unusual for khakis to be shimmery!
