Essie Nail Polish in Jump In My Jumpsuit, swatch

Essie — Jump In My Jumpsuit (Nail Polish)

Collection: Essie Winter 2014

Jump In My Jumpsuit (890) is described by Essie as a “jubilant juicy red”, which, frankly, doesn’t tell you a whole lot! This quite unfortunately-named polish is a midtoned red, but perhaps on the deeper side of that range. The color is a slightly muted, rich mulled wine. The main undertone is a pink berry, but I also feel that it has some gentle warm undertones, and it’d really be flattering on a wide variety of skintones.

The formula has a vaguely jelly-like consistency, but it is quite opaque once on the nail. Two smooth, self-leveling coats gives you full opacity and a high gloss finish. This is an excellent, lush red to take you through the fall and the festive season.

  1. Some of Essie’s polish names… I makes me wonder if some of their staff are OPI rejects LOL. But this colour, it’s GORGEOUS. It’s one of those shades that I see, and I think, Oh I’ve got at least a couple like that… but then I go to look and I won’t have any! I always pass them up when I see them too. This is why I need to do a thorough swatching of my inventory! Do you ever go through your stash to seek out dupes?

  2. I love this shade and I am pretty sure I have it…or at least something very similar from Essie. Must dig that out, thanks for reminding me.
