Collection: Yves Rocher 2015 Summer, Botanical Colour Nail Polish [Launch]

So, I’ve been completely smitten by Yves Rocher’s new line of Botanical Colour Nail Polish and I’ve taken advantage of their many sales and ordered even more colors. I mean, they end up coming in at around CA$3 a pop. What’s not to love?

Black Cherry / Cerise noire (43) is a deep, burgundy red velvet cream. It qualifies as vampy, but it’s not blackened, so it still reads as deep red even in dim light.

Application is quite easy for a deep color, though pigmentation is not super dense, so three coats are required for full opacity. The polish dries to a really pretty, glossy shine, and has a vaguely jelly-ish look.

Three coats gives you an absolutely gorgeous deep red with plummy brown undertones:

I can’t give this a super high recommendation as it does require three coats for best results, but the color is a fine example of a vampy, unblackened red, and I do love it!

A word about the brush: it is a wide paddle shape with a rounded end, and it makes application so, so easy, particularly if your nails are not teeny like mine are—but it still works well for me.

Yves Rocher Botanical Colour Nail Polish is 0.16 fl oz / 5 mL and retails for US$6 / CA$6 / UK£2.95 / EU€2.95. It is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and it is made in France.

    • Well, they released the line in the summer, so that’s all it means. I don’t think it was specifically a summer collection!

      It is definitely still available! I prefer the formula of Purple Pink / Rose pourpre, which is a 2-coater, but the color of Black Cherry is prettier/redder!
