I received my second and probably last Luxe Box (referral link) a couple of weeks ago, and I’m a bit late getting it posted!
Luxe Box is a seasonal box that costs $26 per quarter, though you can get a slight discount for signing up for more boxes at a time. I signed up with the semi-annual option: two boxes for $25 each. The annual option gives you four boxes for $24 each. Shipping is included, at least for the Canadian options.
You receive 7–8 trial-sized items in each curated Luxe Box (I got 5 full-sized items and 2 trial-sizes this season). This time, I did not take up the $10 “Beauty Surprise” option, even though I was pleased with what I got last time. I guess the holidays were getting a little too spendy for me.

BIODERMA Hydrabio Tonique Moisturizing Toner Lotion
(250 mL, full size) [MSRP $21.95]
Bioderma is one of those brands I’ve been meaning to try, but haven’t gotten around to. While it’s pretty cool that Luxe Box sent a full-sized Bioderma product, toner isn’t something I normally use. It is meant for sensitive skin, though, which is nice, so I’ll certainly try it out.
CUCCIO Colour Nail Lacquer in Gazing in Genoa
(13 mL, full size) [MSRP $4.21]
I tried my first Cuccio in a Topbox not long ago. It was all right; I’d have preferred another brand, but at least they didn’t send the same color.
THE FACE SHOP Character Mask in Soothing / Apple (Monkey)
(1 single-use mask) [MSRP 3/$9]
Since Topbox (another Canadian subscription box) operates Luxe Box, I highly recommend that you do not subscribe to both at the same time. There is just way too much overlap of products in the boxes, even though Luxe Box is supposed to contain higher end items. I received a different Character Mask in November’s Topbox. Obviously, it’s nice to have another mask to try, but it’s not the first time I’ve gotten essentially the same product in both boxes. Boring.
HASK Monoi Coconut Oil Deep Nourishing Conditioner
(50 g, sample) [MSRP $1.77 (not sure why they say this; it’s US$2.99 at Ulta); 355 mL for US$5.99]
This is pretty lame for something called Luxe Box, but it does look interesting, despite my usual annoyance at receiving hair products. I’ll definitely have to give this a try, especially now that the winter air is getting so dry. I do like that the sample is really generous!
NEOSTRATA Acne Clear Clarifying Gel Cleanser
(50 mL, sample) [MSRP $24 for 200 mL]
I haven’t used these sorts of cleansers since my 20s…and I don’t think I ever liked them much. They tended to be pretty harsh.
STARLOOKS Pro Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen in Black
(10 mL, full size) [MSRP US$19]
I’ve gotten a Starlooks product before from an Ipsy bag; it was OK. This eyeliner comes under a “Starlooks Pro” label, and I can’t tell from their website exactly what that means (Is it a higher quality product? Is it just a random name change?). Who can’t use another black eyeliner, though, right?
TEEEZ Read My Lips Lipstick in Roulette Red
(2 g, full size) [MSRP $28.94]
I’m not sure this looks like a $29 lipstick to me, but I always love a red lippie! Packaging is adorable but hardly luxe; it feels a tad flimsy. Teeez is a Dutch brand that was launched in 2004; the lipstick itself is made in Italy.
I’m a little undecided! For $24, the box has already paid for itself with the inclusion of the $22 Bioderma toner, the $19 Starlooks eyeliner, and the $29 Teeez lipstick. On the other hand, I don’t love any of those items except the lipstick (’cause I love lipstick!). I also feel like I’d prefer more makeup items than skincare and haircare items, though I’m actually good with the haircare sample this time—at least it’s not a hairspray!
And, now that I’m unsubscribed from Topbox (I’ll be receiving one more for December, apparently), and I’m not subscribed to any other boxes, I shouldn’t have issues with receiving the same products multiple times.
I dunno. I’m going to have to decide, but maybe in the new year!
Have you ever tried any of these products?
