Collection: Essie 2016 Spring
I’m afraid that since I just accumulated a few newer Essies, we’re gonna have another mostly-Essie week!
Essie’s Spring 2016 collection contains six shades that are all creams: totally my bag! I made a trip down to my favorite beauty supply and snagged four shades: High Class Affair, Off Tropic, Poolside Service, and Sunshine State of Mind. I wanted badly to get a couple from the new Resort collection, as well (particularly Taj-Ma-Haul), but didn’t see it on display. Guess I’ll have to make another trip in the next couple of weeks.
Here’s my little haul (the middle four bottles are from the Spring 2016 collection):

Essie Nail Polishes in Color Binge, Sunshine State of Mind, High Class Affair, Off Tropic, Poolside Service, & In the Lobby
Off Tropic (967), is described by Essie as a “lush grove green”. I have always loved a nice green polish, but Essie have outdone themselves with this one! It’s a deep, intense green cream with hints of smoky teal. The color goes on a little deeper on the nails than how it looks in the bottle. I love that it’s vampy but still very clearly green.
Essie’s cream formulas in this collection are pretty awesome. Off Tropic applies beautifully and is fully opaque in two coats. I’m not sure I’m feeling this shade for Spring/Summer, but I’ll definitely have to bring it out in the cooler months—and what luck, it’s been snowing here!
Essie Nail Polish retails for US$8.50 / CA$9.99–$10.99 and is 0.46 US fl oz / 13.5 mL. The polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). It is made in the USA.
Essie Cosmetics, founded in 1981, is based in Westfield NJ, USA. In 2010, Essie was acquired by the L’Oréal Group.
Oooh, I love this one!

This is NICE! I wonder how it compares to Illamasqua Rampage:

Maybe Illamasqua is more yellow-toned? But I feel like my quota of deep green creme is covered with owning the Illamasqua. 😛 (still untrieds pile)

LOL I have this one, too, but also untried. It does look maybe a touch more yellow…we shall see!
