Collection: LVX 2013 Summer

In my bid to post more swatches from brands I don’t blog about as often, here’s a polish from LVX, a brand I hadn’t heard of until I spotted a mass of them at Winners last spring.

Chambord (030), which is from the same collection as the aforementioned Deco, is a supremely creamy, rich plum with a slightly bluer undertone than its name would suggest. Nevertheless, it still reads neutral enough that I feel both warm- and cool-toned skin would have little problem flaunting it! The shade is on the deeper side of medium, and has a wonderful intensity. The pigmentation of the two LVX shades I have tried is really lovely.

Two coats gave even, full coverage. If I was being really picky, I’d do a third coat, but if I’d just done a thick second coat rather than a thin one, it would have been perfect. It dried to a very nice, glossy shine.

LVX Nail Lacquer retails for US$16 and is 0.5 US fl oz / 15 mL. LVX nail polishes are 7-free (no toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), camphor, xylene, and parabens) and are made in the USA. LVX products are cruelty-free and vegan.

LVX was founded in 2011 by sister-and-brother duo Branka and Rade Tomic. The company’s name is Latin for “light”: LUX, and it is based in Illinois, USA. (And here I was all this time, pronouncing it “ell-vee-ex” in my head.) The brand is heavily inspired by trends in fashion.
