Morgan Taylor — Eye Candy (Professional Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Brand: Morgan Taylor

I received this, my second Morgan Taylor polish, from my recent Luxe Box.

Eye Candy (50096) is a stunning deeper shade of periwinkle in a cream finish. It’s a touch more lilac than blue, with a hint of dustiness, but not enough to detract from some intensity.

Like my first Morgan Taylor polish, Mint Chocolate Chip, I found the formula a touch thin; however, since Eye Candy is not a proper pastel the way Mint Chocolate Chip is, it provided better application. You can get away with two coats, but I loved the plush look with three, which is what I used in my swatch.

The finish is smooth and glossy.

Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer can be found at selected nail salons—there’s a salon locator for the US on their website. I got my bottle at NailSupplies.us (formerly TransDesign), where it retails for US$2.75, but there’s almost no stock left. Luxe Box told me the MSRP was CA$15.83, but that seems a bit high to me, as you can find Morgan Taylor polishes online at JC Penney for US$9. It contains 0.5 US fl oz / 15 mL. The formula is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP).

Morgan Taylor was founded by Danny Haile and David Daniel, who have over 30 years of experience in the nail industry. The company is based in Brea, CA, USA.

    • Eeek! That’s too bad. I never wear my polishes for very long (many I just swatch and remove, or just wear for the day) so that’s why I never really mention wear-time. Plus, I find it varies so much depending on the person and what base/top coat combo they use. I definitely want to give one of my Morgan Taylors a try now, though! Will keep you posted 😀
