Annick Goutal at Le Bon Marche

Links: Recent Browsing History… (August 25, 2016)

I haven’t had the time nor the opportunity to do any swatching over the last month, so here’s a little write-up of what has been tickling my browser history, lately!

Our kitchen sink’s hot water connector burst in the middle of the night. NOT FUN. Oh, the joys of living in a condo. Sorry about that, downstairs neighbor. Going to replace all our other connectors, stat.

I didn’t realize I could turn my lonely Christmas cactus into a plethora of Christmas cacti! I have the opposite of a green thumb, so the fact that my cactus actually blooms means I need more of it.

OK, mine doesn’t look this nice.

Always thought goalkeepers had to be a bit crazy. Hope Solo given 6-month ban for being a sore loser. (‘Grats to the Canadian women on their Olympic Soccer Bronze!)

I need to revisit Annick Goutal! I have a full-sized bottle of Les Nuits d’Hadrien and a mini hotel bottle of Eau d’Hadrien, and that’s it for Mme. Goutal in my collection. Think I need something less lemon-y.

Aren’t the vintage-style bottles delightful?

BBC polled 177 film critics and compiled a list of the top 100 films of the 21st century. I haven’t seen them all (not watching as many movies as I did in my college days!) but I’m a little skeptical. David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive gets the number one spot. Not seen it. My faves on the list from just the top 50 are In the Mood for Love (#2), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (#6), Pan’s Labyrinth (#17), Lost in Translation (#22), Memento (#25), Wall-E (#29), Oldboy (#30). I disagree with Zodiac (#12, snooze), Children of Men (come on, it was good, but #13?!), Mad Max: Fury Road (again, I really enjoyed it, but definitely not the #19 movie since 2000), The Dark Knight (#33). Where the hell is Pacific Rim?! 🙂 Did I design my own Jaeger for nothing?

Sadly, I can’t find the one I made. But these are some memes that came of Warner Bros.’ online Jaeger-maker.

As usual over at the Kitchn, the comments are more informative than the actual post! Wanting to relive a bit of our Italian vacation with some Spaghetti alla Carbonara.

Firing Jeremy Clarkson was a bad move. You don’t say? Can’t say he didn’t deserve it, though. Still, DH and I are eagerly awaiting The Grand Tour, though we’re not exactly sure how we’re supposed to watch it in Canada. Thanks for nothing, Amazon Prime.

Finally, I recently got a pretty new recipe box and cards, and wanted to find out what the best pen options was if I wanted it to be waterproof and archival quality. Of course, I got carried away from this single blog post on pigment pens by The Well-Appointed Desk, and ordered a few different types.
