5.4 g full size; US$5.99

I feel like I’ve seen this brand’s products (possibly just eyeshadow) at my local Rexall. I have to go back and check, ’cause it’s really bugging me, now! Anyway, unless this lipstick is totally awesome, I don’t think I’ll get much use out of it. I already have what I feel are fantastic matte red lipsticks (Bésame Red Velvet, MAC Russian Red, YSL Rouge Rock). This Absolute lipcolor looks like your standard deep-but-not-anywhere-near-vampy red. [Made in PRC (China).]

Another mascara to try. Not bad! So glad I have my Etude House Dr Mascara Fixers to waterproof my stick-straight lashes, first. [Made in Italy.]

Doucce Freematic Blush in Zen Orange (Pan)

Doucce Freematic Blush in Zen Orange (Pan)

3.4 g full size pan; pan with compact US$28

I checked out this brand’s website (I think their logo looks like it says “Jouccc” or “douccc”, though), and they seem quite Inglot-inspired. Overall, the site doesn’t give me the impression that this is a higher end brand, despite this blush’s price tag—it feels more like a cheaper brand trying to look a lot more sophisticated. Of course, I haven’t tried the blush I got, yet, so I might have to eat those words. The blush color I received, Zen Orange, looks really promising for my warm-toned skin. It comes in a magnetic pan (this I like!) with a slide-off plastic cover so you can use the pan without the Freematic blush compact. Freematic reminds me of Inglot’s highly customizable Freedom palettes for blush and eyeshadows; I have no idea why Doucce’s blush is called Freematic, however, as I only see single-pan blush compacts on their website! The eyeshadow palettes, on the other hand, come in 6-pan palettes, and it doesn’t appear that you can buy by the pan. You have to buy 6 pans with a palette as a whole set. [Made in RoC (Republic of China/Taiwan).]

Luxie Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush (524T Travel Size)

travel size; full size US$18

This is the third Luxie brush I’ve gotten from Ipsy. At this rate, I’ll have their whole collection within a couple of years. They’re cute brushes, though. Also, synthetic and cruelty-free. This duo fiber brush isn’t something I need, as I already have the same thing from MAC. [Doesn’t say where it’s made.]

15 mL travel size; 15 mL travel size US$20, or 50 mL full size US$55

Last year, I got a pūr~lisse cleanser in a Luxe Box, and I am currently in love with it! Unfortunately, they don’t seem to carry it anymore, so I’ve inquired whether the new cleanser is a similar formula. Anyway, this makes me quite excited to try their moisturizer, too. [Made in USA.]

Ipsy Glam Bag “Rockstarlet” Makeup Pouch

This month’s makeup bag is made of a foam sort of material that I’m not a huge fan of, but the bag’s constellation motif is very cute (love that silver star zipper pull) and it is double-sided. The interior is a matching metallic silver. The quality of the pouch itself isn’t great, however.

Glam Bag Verdict

I loved getting the pūr~lisse moisturizer (though I loathe having to deal with the overline on the “u” in their brand name). theBalm mascara and Doucce blush look like they could be good. Not so keen on the Luxie brush and the Absolute New York lipstick. Hopefully this batch will end up with more hits than misses!

Some other Ipsy items for November 2016 that I would have liked to try:

  • Bésame Brightening Vanilla Face Setting Powder
  • Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in Huntress (I actually had this in my Sephora shopping cart for a while, though I didn’t pull the trigger during the recent sale)
  • OFRA Banana Powder
  • tarte Maracuja Oil
  • Nuxe Nuxellence DETOX
  • ‘Tini Beauty Eyetini Shadow in Firestarter

  1. I’ve seen the brand Absolute – I think they have a brow palette there.
How are you liking the Etude House mascara fixers?
Oh that Doucce blush is a TOTAL wannabe Inglot! But it looks decent. I’d never pay $28 for that though. This reminds me, I need to raid the ArtDeco display soon. You have no idea how much willpower it took for me to not buy something as soon as I saw that display – the merchandiser was still setting it up, lol.
Is pūr~lisse sold in stores at all? The brand rings a bell but I could be confusing it with something else.
Re: Bésame Setting Powder. I was THIS close to buying the violet powder during the VIB sale. I left it in my loves list for now…
    Great bag!

    • I’m just using up the Etude House mascara fixer with the fibers in it (yes mascara lasts me forever, so naughty of me). Got the other version waiting to be opened!

I know, $28 for that Doucce blush? Do they not recognize what other blushes can be had for that price? It’s gotta be good, man.

I look forward to ArtDeco reviews when you eventually pull the trigger! IDK why it doesn’t seem to appeal to me, not even the nail polish. I’m not even sure they still carry the polish at my SDM.

Haven’t seen pūr~lisse in stores here. Shipping to Canada is about $12 or $13 (boo) so I am not inclined to buy the face wash since it’s not the exact one I am using now. So sad.

The Bésame powder is adorable! I had the violet one in my loves list, too 🙂
