I don’t often review indie brands, since I don’t buy them very much. But I recently dipped my toes a little deeper into the indie pond and picked up my first ILNP (I Love Nail Polish, of course! Fab name!), inspired by Gym Bag Makeup’s review last year.
Valentina is completely stunning in the bottle: a light robin’s egg blue with a strong pink flash. The shimmer is very fine and the formula appears sheer.
The packaging is very nice: the bottle is sleek and the box is a great touch. It’s the kind of polish box I do keep! The shade name is also handily stickered on top of the box.
The formula is very sheer and the shade is shimmery. It applies very smoothly, but the shade is too sheer for my taste. My swatch shows three coats. This will more likely be a topper for me—I bet it’d look great over an opaque blue, for example.
I wish this was more of a semi-opaque shade, but nevertheless it’s pretty, a bit unusual, and leaves me wanting to try more ILNP! (I did recently pick up another, which should be opaque, so I look forward to swatching it.)
ILNP Boutique Nail Lacquer is 0.4 fl oz / 12 mL and the retail price varies depending on the shade. The range is generally US$10–12.50 (averaging about CA$15). They also have an Etsy store. The polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). The company is cruelty-free, vegan, and made in the USA.
ILNP is based in NV, USA.
