Collection: Essie 2016 Winter
Satin Sister (1003 salon / 1886 retail). Essie describes it as a “sleek ebony peacock blue”, which is perfect. It’s a darkened teal blue cream that manages to avoid looking black, even though it does translate into a deeper shade on the nail than how it appears in the bottle.
The color is dense and striking—I “oohed” a little as soon as I brushed it on for the first time!
The formula is excellent: the consistency is thick (possibly a touch too thick) and it applies very evenly. The pigmentation is strong, though I still preferred using two coats to achieve that plusher look. Be careful applying, though, as this is one of those shades that stains if you get it onto your skin by accident.
Deep and lush colors like this are right down my alley, so I’m very much in love with Satin Sister!
