Shu Uemura just released their new collaboration with Super Mario Bros./Nintendo (I KNOW!) and it is an awesome collection!
Sadly, there’s no nail polish, though I did snag the Invincible Superstar Premium Curler and Peach’s Favorite Premium Brush Set.
Super Mario World for Super Nintendo brings back memories!
Here are some selected items from the collection:

US$115 / CA$125

US$91 / CA$99

US$69 / CA$89

US$21 / CA$25

US$475 / CA$525
I ordered the brush set and the eyelash curler before I realized that these were not only available at Shu Uemura Canada, but also at Sephora Canada. (However, I did get 10% off on my first shuuemura.ca order, plus a few percent cashback via ebates Canada.) The Canadian Shu Uemura site has more items than the US site has, and the palette is already sold out on the US site.
They arrived extremely quickly from L’Oréal’s local warehouse (the French giant acquired Shu Uemura in 2004)! I ordered on Friday, it shipped on Saturday, and I received it on Monday.
I’ve been wanting to compare the Shu Uemura curler to the Shiseido curler that I normally use, so this was a great excuse to pick it up!
The eyelash curler is made in Taiwan. The Super Mario Bros. star charm is made in China.
The round starman brush case is too cute for words.
The brushes are made in Japan. The Super Mario Bros. pouch is made in China.
The brushes are mini and the whole set is just perfect for travel! OK, so I have actually not traveled at all since having kids, but soon, man. I tell you. Soon!
Here are the brushes next to the eyelash curler, for size reference:
Check out the sprites on the handles! Top to bottom: Fire Flower, Magic Mushroom, Starman, Coin. (I kind of wish the Piranha Plants were there, too!)
And, finally, I also got a free sample of Shu Uemura’s Maxi-Hydrability Moisture Essence-In Gel:
Have a great weekend!

I love the Shu Uemura lash curlers, I’ve had several of them over the years.

They’re such a classic! I feel very out of the loop having not tried it until now 🙂

OMG I did NOT know that Shu Uemura did a collab with Super Mario! What the HECK?!! It’s absolutely insane but it works, somehow! I’m off buying makeup right now but fun to look at (but that makeup case!). The brush set is the same as the one they offered with the Murakami collection (except for the handle and pouch design of course).

Collabs are always fun – so hard to resist. Be strong! 😀
I love the train case, but holy crap the price. Hahahaha!
I’m glad the mini brushes are the same as previously released ones – I was able to look up reviews that way!

Oh my that oil packaging! That train case is so pricey! I’d want it to be filled with makeup for that price as well!
