Collection: SinfulColors 2017 Halloween, Night of the Living Red
You guys are going to help me out with the naming of this one.
Witch Hazel Bohn (2297) is a glow-in-the-dark polish I picked up from SinfulColors’ latest Halloween collection (it may be a re-release from a previous year, though…I can’t quite tell from the code). And I simply do not understand the name. Witch hazel, sure. But Bohn? What’s that? Google has failed me, as well. Is there a pun I’m not getting? Maybe Bohn sounds like bone? But why Bohn?!?!?! Is there someone famous named Hazel Bohn? SinfulColors’ description doesn’t help much, either: “You glow, ghoul! Skull-shaped glitters in a glow in the dark base are drop-dead awesome.”
I MUST KNOW!
Anyway. As usual, this ostensibly glow-in-the-dark nail polish is a greenish-yellow, and leaves that tint on the nail. Now, I haven’t tried too many glow-in-the-dark polishes in my life, but I literally can never get them to work. I don’t know if it’s because I always cheap out and get them from Claire’s or something, but I put on five coats, charge it under bright light for ages, and they never give me so much as a feeble glow.
So, maybe I need help with glow-in-the-dark polishes in general.
This polish from SinfulColors fared no differently. My swatch shows five coats, I charged it for practically an hour under sunlight and bright lamps, and still almost no glow at all! Yet, it glows just fine in the bottle:
The cute little skull-and-crossbones glitter pieces, which are dark teal and matte, are also damn near impossible to get out of the bottle. They all sit at the bottom, and in order to get just one out so I could at least get a photo of it, I had to flip the bottle around for quite some time, and then attack it with the brush for five minutes until I finally fished one out.
Here is the one lonely piece applied over Bite Me. There are three coats of Bite Me and five coats of Witch Hazel Bohn in this photo!
If you can get glow-in-the-dark polishes to work for you, great, but I still wouldn’t really recommend this one because the skulls are just too hard to get out. Epic fail for me, personally.
My Halloween nails will have to be content being dark, in the dark.

I’m a bit skeptical about glow-in-the-dark polishes/top coats and you are confirming all my fears. 5 coats?!?!? Yikes!

Ugh, yes, I am going to avoid these cute chunky glitters that sink to the bottom. What a pain!
I’ve never had luck with GITD polishes! Maybe I need to try one from a higher quality brand.
