Collection: Essie 2016 Spring, Gel Couture Launch: Atelier
Today I have another Essie Gel Couture color sent by one of my favorite online nail polish stores, Nail Polish Canada.
Twill Seeker (80) is from the original Spring 2016 launch, in particular the Atelier collection. It’s one of the shades that definitely caught me eye, as it’s a little different from most of the other Gel Couture shades, which tend to come in cream finishes. This one is a vampy greyed purple with veins of fine green shimmer.
Purple and green combinations are not too unusual these days, but this is a really gorgeously executed version, with an inky purple and subtle glints of green.
You can read a more detailed review of the Gel Couture polish bottle, brush, and wear in my review of Sage You Love Me.
Suffice to say here that application was very easy, though I did find that this polish looks its best with three coats. You can get away with two, but the depth you get with three is totally worth it. I used three in my swatch.
The polish dries to a lovely, glossy finish.
Nail Polish Canada did send me this polish for review, and you can find Essie Gel Couture polishes for sale in their store. Apart from that I am not affiliated with them in any way, and I will add that I always love shopping with them (it’s where most of my indie polishes have been purchased!) and shipping is free in Canada on orders over a mere $19. Plus, they usually send along a free lollipop or two! 🍭
Essie Nail Polish currently retails for US$8.50 / CA$9.99–$10.99 and is 0.46 US fl oz / 13.5 mL. It is made in the USA.
Essie Cosmetics, founded in 1981 by Essie Weingarten, is based in Westfield NJ, USA. In 2010, Essie was acquired by the L’Oréal Group.
