Collection: Sothys 2017 Fall
Sothys Paris is a luxury French beauty brand that is sold primarily in beauty institutes and spas worldwide. I had never before tried their line of skincare and cosmetics, and was intrigued when I was contacted to review a few of the nail and makeup products from their Fall 2017 collection.
I was sent a Nail Lacquer (but of course!), Cream Blush, and Rouge Mat Velvet Effect Lipsticks for review. I have previously reviewed the Nail Lacquer in Rouge des Arts, and if you would like additional information about the company, you can read it in that review, as well.
Today, I am reviewing the Cream Blush in Voile de Rose (30), a bright yet soft azalea pink.
A innovative cream formula that transforms into a powder. An Old Rose shade that warms up and brightens the complexion beautifully for a guaranteed healthy glow!
The blush comes packaged in a slim, round disc of a tub. The plastic tub is well-made and the cap is easy to twist open. I’d probably prefer a slightly deeper tub, though admittedly, it does feel more sleek this way!
Voile de Rose is a medium-toned, rich shade of rosy pink that has both warm and cool undertones. I’d wager it would look good on a very wide variety of skintones, and as it is well-pigmented and not pastel, it may suit some deeper skintones, too.
It’s the perfect shade of subtle pink that instantly brightens a complexion.
I usually use powder blushes, not cream blushes, as I find applying cream blushes on my cheeks to be a chore when I (often) have fading acne marks to worry about. This blush formula does play quite nicely with various liquid foundations I’ve used, so it has been much more pleasant for me to try than some other cream blushes I’ve attempted to use.
This cream blush has a cream-to-powder formulation, and I vastly prefer this when it’s used in conjunction with foundation. For example, a different brand of cream blush I’ve tried, which doesn’t have a powder finish, just sat on top of my skin and looked awful with foundation.
Voile de Rose also has the pigmentation to stand up to a bit of finishing powder over the top, so it doesn’t completely disappear!
Here it is swatched on the back of my hand:
It does have a very subtle shimmer to it, as well—it’s just enough to give the color a bit of dimension. You won’t look like a disco ball, I promise!
A little bit of product does pack a punch. I have been applying it by patting my fingertips, but I think a stippling brush would probably work better for a more natural effect.
As lovely as trying this cream blush was, I really do feel like powder blush is more my thing, so I will give this to my mom when she visits for the holidays. She’s always been one to use cream blush (I guess when you have great skin, it’s easy!) and I think she’ll wear this color beautifully.

Sothys Cream Blush is made in France.
Sothys was founded in 1946 when Dr. Hotz, a medical biologist, developed an ampoule treatment for those who suffered burns during World War II. Since 1966, Sothys has been owned by the Mas family, and it continues to be a private company based in Paris, France.
Oh wow, that color looks so pretty! I also do prefer powder blush, I always feel like it’s quicker to put on!

It is, and it’s easier to control, at least for me 🙂

I always want to love cream blushes… but I more like the idea of it. But at the heart, I’m a powder blush kind of girl. 😛

I’d heard of the skincare but had no idea they did makeup, too! It’s very pretty stuff 🙂 The lipsticks in particular are packaged so nicely.
