I Love Nail Polish Tag

Chic & Polished did this tag a few weeks ago, and as a full-fledged nail polish fiend, I had to get tagged for it! Thanks for the tag, girl!

It is Tag Tuesday, so here we go ๐Ÿ˜€

1. Favorite base coat?

I don’t often use base coat, as I don’t find it makes a huge difference to me. But when I do, I like to use Orly Bonder.

2. Favorite top coat?

CND Speedey and Essie Good to Go.

3. Top 3 favorite nail polish brands?

Essie, Misa, and Zoya. I haven’t tried enough of A-England, Dior, and Illamasqua, yet, but I am loving the ones I have used.Misa Nail Lacquer in Dirty, Sexy, Money

Would You Rather…? Tag (Beauty Edition)

Billie at Blended & Beautiful just did this tag, and I thought it looked fun to do, so here’s mine!

1. Would you rather…lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
As much as I love my lipsticks, I’d rather lose the former group because all of those products expire within a few years. Powder eyeshadows seem to last forever, so I’d keep mine.

2. Would you rather…chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
One-time chop-off. Then I would wear some cool wigs and hats for a while.

3. Would you rather…have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I like coral best on me.

Post a Quote Challenge: Day 3

Stashmatters has tagged me to do the Post a Quote Challenge!

The rules are simple: post a quote each day for three days, and tag another blogger to do it each day. I guess you’re actually supposed to tag three bloggers per day, but that seems excessive to me. One quote, one tag! ๐Ÿ˜€

Today, I am tagging: mrsstrawberryblonde!

My third and last quote is from the classic Mel Brooks comedy, Spaceballs. It’s a Star Wars spoof starring Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, John Candy, and Rick Moranis as the villain who utters my favorite line from an immensely quotable movie.

And now, to end Post a Quote Challenge on a sad note. Rick Moranis, the Toronto-born comedian who appeared in many memorable movies from my childhood (The Ghostbusters movies, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, L.A. Story, and Spaceballs, to mention a few), retired from Hollywood in the 1990s to raise his two children after his wife died of cancer. What a dad!

He still occasionally does voices for animated projects, like Brother Bear, so it’s nice to see that he hasn’t completely disappeared from moviemaking.

I never did see Little Shop of Horrors, so I think I’ll rectify that this weekend.

Thanks for reading! And thanks to Stashmatters for the tag!

Post a Quote Challenge: Day 2

Stashmatters has tagged me to do the Post a Quote Challenge!

The rules are simple: post a quote each day for three days, and tag another blogger to do it each day. I guess you’re actually supposed to tag three bloggers per day, but that seems excessive to me. One quote, one tag! ๐Ÿ˜€

Today, I am tagging: Nerdy Librarian Girl!

My second quote is from another favorite comedy, Mystery Men, with Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria, Janeane Garofalo, Geoffrey Rush, and a bunch of other very funny people (Eddie Izzard has a small role in it, too!). The quote is spoken by a character called The Sphinx, played by Wes Studi, who guides our heroes with pithy, nonsensical sayings like, “Sometimes, the true hero is the one with the courage to run away.” Whoops, I guess you get two quotes today.

You must be like the wolf pack…
…not like the six pack.

Post a Quote Challenge: Day 1

Stashmatters has tagged me to do the Post a Quote Challenge!

The rules are simple: post a quote each day for three days, and tag another blogger to do it each day.

First, I am tagging: The Sock Mistress!

I’m not really into motivational quotes and the like, so I’ll just pick a few of my favorite lines from movies and TV.

Baldrick…
You wouldn’t recognise a subtle plan
if it painted itself purple and danced naked
on top of a harpsichord, singing,
“Subtle plans are here again!”

Allergic to the “E” Challenge Tag

I only just saw I got tagged for this fiendish challenge by Stashmatters. Crap, I have until tonight at 9pm to do this!

“E” Challenge Rules

  • Write a paragraph (sounds easy, right?) without any word containing the letter โ€œeโ€ (still easy?).
  • By reading this, you are already signed up.
  • Select at least 5 bloggers to do this challenge. They must complete it within 24 hours or else it is considered as failure.
  • If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.
  • If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.
  • Gross lumpy forms float on top of dark tar pits, bubbling and oozing pink mucus from small stoma dotting soft, shiny skins. An astronaut lands, clutching his kit of apparatus for obtaining rosy pink manna. Aims to approach quickly, a ninja agriculturalist, but fails with a clumsy motion that fashions his slow and tawdry downfall. What a fool to think of tar pit fish as placid lambs, and not mako sharks in tapioca ball form! A sticky cough, and an odd astronaut’s boot is spat out by happy lumps, that sink back into murky black.

Everyone reading this is tagged. You have 24 hours. Go! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Beauty Blogger Tag

Get To Know Me: The Beauty Blogger Tag

I’ve seen this tag done by many bloggers, so with a small nudge from Chicandpolished, who recently did it herself, I give you my version!

    1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Straight, for the most part, and stubborn.
    2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
It’s naturally black, and I like it natural! Of course, I have no white hairs yetโ€ฆ
    3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I’m currently a SAHM so I usually do a twist or a ponytail, otherwise it’s getting yanked! I have gotten baby puke in my hair once when it wasn’t pulled back. I didn’t realize, it dried there, and it was just gross all-round! Generally, though, I like it down or in a half-pony.
    4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do them myself. I don’t like strangers touching me, so even haircuts and dental work are kind of trying for me. I am neglectful of my pedi in winter, but will give myself one this weekend to kick off the nice summer weather we’re finally getting.
