Finally, everyone in the household is on the road to recovery! I managed to stay relatively illness-free, except for once when I think I might have given myself food poisoning and had an upset stomach for a night. We were all so overwhelmed over the last week and a half that my husband actually had to remind me that we forgot about our 17th wedding anniversary over the weekend.
I should really get my computer to remind me about stuff like this.
So, we celebrated last night with some dinner delivered and half a movie (The Nice Guys, if you’re interested—and that’s how we have to roll nowadays, early to bed). Plus, we’ll add a li’l anniversary money to our fun budgets!
Speaking of fun budgets, here’s some stuff I hauled over the last couple of months from drugstores. And I’m including some stuff I got from Cosmetic Love late last year, but totally forgot about under my desk.
All prices are what I paid, not necessarily the MSRP.

Collections: butter LONDON Spring 2017, Pantone Color of the Year 2017 Mini Sets in Refresh & Renew
butter LONDON collaborated with color experts Pantone for a Color of the Year 2017 nail polish, Greenery, a yellow-green.
They’ve now released a two sets of four mini polishes with all new shades (I’ve no idea why they didn’t just pick three shades from the original Pantone 2017 collection, but hey, new shades!), excepting Greenery, of course.
I just love all the shades in this new collection! There are both brights and neutrals that complement each other brilliantly.
As a side note, butter LONDON have taken to referring to their original line of 3-Free Nail Lacquers as Trend Lacquers, even though the newer bottles drop the 3-Free and just say Nail Lacquer. Consistency is all I ask!
The opulent artistry of butter LONDON and influential edge of PANTONE, the global color authority, combine forces in an uplifting color collaboration.
Inspired by GREENERY, the PANTONE Color of the Year, this oh-so-alive color collection celebrates the essence of natural beauty. Say hello to a range of fiercely feminine, wildly luxurious color, infused with vitality and pure ebullience.
The six new shades are:
Bodacious, vibrant lilac crème
Buttercream, warm off-white crème
Calypso Coral, coral pink crème
Caramel Cafè [sic], warm caramel brown
Greenery (Color of the Year), yellow green crème
Rich Gold, warm golden shimmering beige
The shades also come in 6 matching lipglosses (except for the green, which is a white shimmer with some green in it).
I guess butter LONDON are running out of those British-inspired names, as well! Can’t say I’m too excited by these polish color names, though I suppose Pantone would have come up with “Greenery”.
butter LONDON has released their Spring 2016 collection, Lost in Leisure, which includes 10 new nail colors (4 of which are available in a 4-piece fashion sized set). The collection also includes 4 shades of Lippy Liquid Lipstick and 4 Wardrobe Eyeshadow Duos.
Sephora’s VIB Rouge Sale just started today (that’s 20% off from Nov. 6–9, 2015 with the code ROUGE20).
Next weekend, VIB members get 20% off with the code VIB20. That’s the group that I fall into, so I’ve been plotting my purchases.
I’m supposed to be on a no-buy until December, but that was ill-advised, since November is my birthmonth, plus all those great fall sales start now! Aaargh.
I’ll just end my low-buy a bit early! I mean, I probably won’t even receive anything I order until late November, anyway. Right?
Here’s my tentative shopping bag. I don’t think all of these things will make it into the final order, and I certainly hope the stuff I really want (the Bésame lipstick in Merlot that I’ve been coveting finally showed up!) doesn’t sell out!
‘Cause I need more nail polish and lipstick like I need a hole in the head…
butter LONDON has released Invite Only, a holiday collection consisting of several cute gift sets. Most contain preexisting shades, but a couple of them contain new, set exclusive shades.
The largest set is 12 Months of Manis, which contains 12 full-sized (0.4 fl oz / 11 mL) polishes. Five of the colors are previously released shades: Fiver, High Tea, Molly-Coddled, Petticoat, and Tiddly.
Today’s Throwback Thursday is not quite as old as some of the polishes previously featured, but it’s a fairly well-known shade that I just about deem a classic, by now.
British Racing Green was launched in the fall of 2009 as part of a collection of polishes that butter LONDON created for New York Fashion Week. “Hand mixed by our very own Creative Director Nonie Creme for the Vena Cava show” (butterlondon.com), it’s a deep, vampy jewel-toned green with subtle shimmer. This elegant shade is named for the shades of green used in British auto racing since 1903—usually a deep forest green.
I’m not a driver and I know next to nothing about cars, but if I ever had to get a car, it’d be a deep green like this polish. And be an E-Type. I can dream, right?
