Brands: Ceramic Glaze
Ceramic Glaze is a line of polish sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada; there’s a lot of references online to it being owned by or affiliated with China Glaze, but I can’t find anything referring to this from AII (who own China Glaze and several other nail care brands). The only link I can find is that ACI Brands, a Canadian company, is the Canadian distributor for both Ceramic Glaze and China Glaze, which doesn’t mean they’re made by the same company.
I personally feel that’s a good thing if China Glaze isn’t associated with this brand, as I generally am a fan of China Glaze, but I don’t think Ceramic Glaze—at least the one color I’ve tried—stands up to the quality of China Glaze.
I haven’t actually been too interested in trying Ceramic Glaze, since I feel it’s quite overpriced at the drugstore: it’s CA$9.99, which puts it up there with Essie (both go on sale at SDM for around the same price, CA$7.99). The packaging and color selection just didn’t look interesting enough, so I’ve passed on it for a long while.
However, last year I found a few Ceramic Glaze shades on clearance for CA$3, so I figured it was worth a try at that low price. Blueberry Bubblegum (110) is, oddly, a whitened turquoise cream, like a duller, pastel Tiffany-blue, and not terribly reminiscent of blueberries at all.
