New Release: Color Club — Nailmoji Neon Collection (Summer 2016)

Collection: Color Club, Summer 2016, Nailmoji Neon

There have been loads of new spring and summer nail polish releases, but I haven’t felt compelled to post many of them until now! Color Club has released a great new summer collection with emoji glitter! Nailmoki Neon consists of seven confetti emoji glitter polishes in bright neon shades. The collection is limited edition.

I’m not even into glitter, and I want at least one! (SMH or YASSSS!)

The seven shades are:

  • 100 (neon green)
  • Chill (neon blue)
  • JK (neon yellow)
  • OMG (neon pink)
  • SMH (neon orange)
  • Squad (neon purple)
  • YASSSS (neon red)

In De-Nile (1022) is a whitened, greyish-blue cream. It doesn’t exactly conjure up images of the Nile River, to me! I imagine a coastline in a much colder place. But I guess De-Nile ain’t just a river in Egypt…

The Color Club packs sold at Winners are typically unlabeled, but the colors all looked like the ones in Color Club’s Spring 2014 Safari Garden collection. I’ll have to label the bottles myself.

Look, Don’t Tusk (1021) is a bit unusual in my collection: a whitened, creamy beige with a tinge of khaki. It is certainly a bit reminiscent of the ivory for which it’s named, perhaps with a touch more yellow than I’d have imagined.

Color Club — Je ne sais quoi (Professional Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Color Club 2014 Spring, Paris in Love

The Color Club packs sold at Winners are typically unlabeled, but the colors all looked like the ones in Color Club’s Spring 2014 Paris in Love collection. I’ll have to label the bottles myself.

Je ne sais quoi (1039) is a turmeric-stained mustard yellow cream which has a clear, slightly jellyish quality: not like the chalky mustards that I have previously seen. Obviously, this is not a color for everybody, and I don’t think it’s for me, either. But I’m always drawn to a mustard yellow, even if it doesn’t suit me well!

This polish comes from a French-inspired collection from Color Club, yet it definitely has more of a spicier English mustard about it than a paler French Dijon. Its name, however, forgoes the predictable mustard reference for the French phrase, je ne sais quoi, meaning “a pleasing quality that cannot be exactly named or described”.

I personally am a big fan of mustard, and we usually keep a couple varieties of Kozlik’s Canadian mustard in the fridge, particularly Balsamic Fig & Date and Lemon & Basil. (Their empty jars are also perfect for my spice drawer!)

Fondue for Two (1041) is probably meant to be inspired by melted chocolate, but to me the shade is more suited to a Swiss raclette. The creamy brown shade has a yellow undertone which brings to mind pale yellow melted cheese, and the taupe tones conjure visions of mushrooms and potatoes which are often dipped into the cheese.

Holy Chic! (1040) is a pastel lavender cream with a strong periwinkle blue tone. The overall look is a touch subtle, with a hint of dustiness.

Je t’aime (1037) is a pastel candy pink cream. It’s cute, but with it’s cool undertone, it’s so not my color!

As a side note, I have very little clue how to capitalize French titles, so I’m leaving Je t’aime (which means I love you) mostly uncapitalized.
