Crawford Street Rose Geranium 2-in-1 Soothing Cleanser

Crawford Street — Rose Geranium 2-In-1 Soothing Cleanser Review

I discovered Toronto-based Crawford Street last year, with their Grapefruit Mint Salt Scrub that I really enjoyed.

Since then, I’ve bought two more products from them, the Rose Geranium Toner and the Rose Geranium 2-in-1 Soothing Cleanser, which is the product I’m reviewing today.

From Crawford Street:

This cleanser will remove make up and gently clean your skin at the same time.

Made with anti-inflammatory castor oil to calm and soothes the skin. It also helps reduce acne and rosacea.  The enzymes in the Papaya extract are gently exfoliating,  and promote new cell formation. Vitamin C , a powerful anti-oxidant, will leave your skin softer and smoother. Rose Geranium essential oil is balancing and astringent.

For: All skin-types

Shelf Life: 6-9 months. Store in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight.

Initially, I did like this cleanser quite a lot! Even though I have dry skin, I normally have a hard time liking cream cleansers like this one. I always feel like they’re bad at cleaning (forget removing makeup!) and leave my skin feeling dirty or greasy, or both.

The Rose Geranium 2-in-1 Cleanser is a lovely, light cream that actually does a reasonably job of cleaning the skin! I mean, no, it doesn’t do a great job of removing makeup (what cream cleanser does? I wish they’d stop claiming to!), so you’ll have to remove that first.

I am currently using cleansing oils/balms to remove makeup, so I used this cream cleanser as a morning cleanser, and again at night as a second cleanser to remove any remnants of cleansing oil.

As it is a cream cleanser, you have the option of wiping it off with a cotton ball or rinsing it off with water; I’m totally a rinse person, and this cleanser rinses off very well and doesn’t leave a film on my skin.

This cleanser also smells lovely: it’s an herbal, wet rose, like an English garden. All the scents come from actual plant extracts, which brings me to the issue I had with this cleanser.

Haulage! Drugstores & Cosmetic Love (Oct 2016 & Feb–Mar 2017)

Finally, everyone in the household is on the road to recovery! I managed to stay relatively illness-free, except for once when I think I might have given myself food poisoning and had an upset stomach for a night. We were all so overwhelmed over the last week and a half that my husband actually had to remind me that we forgot about our 17th wedding anniversary over the weekend.

I should really get my computer to remind me about stuff like this.

So, we celebrated last night with some dinner delivered and half a movie (The Nice Guys, if you’re interested—and that’s how we have to roll nowadays, early to bed). Plus, we’ll add a li’l anniversary money to our fun budgets!

Speaking of fun budgets, here’s some stuff I hauled over the last couple of months from drugstores. And I’m including some stuff I got from Cosmetic Love late last year, but totally forgot about under my desk.

All prices are what I paid, not necessarily the MSRP.

Crawford Street — Grapefruit Mint Salt Scrub Review

I came across Toronto-based natural bath & body brand Crawford Street while browsing the sales at Well.ca (referral link) a couple of weeks ago, and since I was on the market for a new body scrub, and I’m a sucker for most anything citrus-scented/flavored, I bought the Grapefruit Mint Salt Scrub.

The instructions for the salt scrub are as follows (from Crawford Street):

We found the best way to use this scrub is to draw a bath. Hop in and wet your body. Stand up in the bath and use your salt scrub. Start at the feet and work up to get a stimulating circulation and lymphatic treatment. Avoid face, neck and chest. Let the scrub fall into the bath. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
