After revamping the Swatch Gallery over the weekend, I came to the realization that I hadn’t reviewed brands like Color Club, Misa, and Orly in a long while! I’m rectifying the problem starting today.
Early last year, I found a pack of six Color Club polishes, plus a clear top coat, marked down to CA$9.99 at Winners. At about $1.43 a bottle, that’s kind of a no-brainer!
For some reason, some of the Color Club packs sold at Winners are unlabeled, but the colors all looked like the ones in the previous season’s Color Club collection, Winter 2013’s Harlem Lights. I’ve had to label the bottles myself:
I’m just going to repeat my review from the old post, and include a new note for each polish.
Note: Cabi-o-Lait is actually still produced by Essie, but for some reason it looks quite pink on their website. Mine is much more cream-colored and has always been so. I’m not sure if Essie’s changed it, or if theirs is an inaccurate pic and description. I think I’ll go hunt it down and see for myself, as well! Also, my swatch pic shows five coats. Yes, the bald spots are still visible. I did notice that a tiny bit of thinner (about 4 drops) made the polish less streaky, though.
Oh, Essie sheers…you never can tell if they’re going to streak or be smooth as glass.
Cabi-o-Lait belongs to the former group. It’s streaky, and even by the time I layered on the fourth coat, it still shows the slightest hint of a “bald spot” (you know, that thin spot right in front of the cuticle). I really dig the colour, a milky white with hints of beige and pink, but I just cannot seem to work with the formula.
