Unfortunately, there are no nail polishes in this collaboration between Korean cosmetics brand The Face Shop (owned by LG) and Fox’s The Simpsons. It’s a collection of sunscreens, hand creams, body oil, and sheet masks.
Hula Marge on the Tanning Oil is my favorite!
Cosmetic Love (referral link) has all on sale right now.
Everyone’s been doing this, so I just thought I’d throw in my version of this holiday post! I missed Tag Tuesday yesterday, so I’ll just do a late Tag Wednesday.
I am generally a bit of a Scrooge, as I have my birthday in November and I can’t stand it when stores and radio stations are playing Christmas music before it. But, I am pretty much OK with Christmas and other holiday music in December!
Here are some of my favorites from my Christmas playlist, new and old:
Jack Johnson, “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. I love this slightly re-written version of the classic song.
Guster, “¿Dónde Está Santa Claus?”.
Roxette, “It Must Have Been Love”. Can you believe they meant this as a Christmas song? Its full title is “It Must Have Been Love (Christmas for the Broken-Hearted)”. SO depressing. But I adore it.
Usual readers of my blog will know that I was a big fan of last season’s TV hit, Empire, an addictive musical drama about a music mogul family. I feel like this current second season has slacked off a little, storywise, but it’s still on my weekly watchlist!
Now, Deborah Lippmann has released an Empire collection that ties in with the series, and let’s just say these shades are exactly the kind of polishes Cookie would wear! The three shades come in a set of deluxe sizes (8 mL), and retails for US$24.
The three shades are:
Hustle Hard (I’m sure this magenta shade is also a reference to Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard co-starring in 2005’s Hustle & Flow)
English indie nail polish brand A England has just released their Winter 2015 collection, To Emily Brontë. Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite books of all time, so I’m sure I’ll sucker myself into picking up a few of these!

The five colors are:
Heathcliff, a subtle glitter on a black base
Cathy, ghostly, eerie white grey holo with an illusory flash of blue
Let Me In, dark red berry holo full of depth and passion
Wuthering Heights, soft medium grey holo wrapping multiple reflections
Spirit of the Moors, bright blu holo revealing at times tiny surprising green lights
Oh, who am I kidding? I want all five!
Not only have I read the book, but I’ve also seen many of the film and TV adaptations of the classic novel:
Welp, my low-buy’s not going that great! I spotted a slew of colors from China Glaze’s new fall collection, The Great Outdoors, at Winners and decided to pick up…several. This is the first China Glaze collection I’ve been wowed by for some time now! I got Cabin Fever, Check Out the Silver Fox, Free Bear Hugs, Pondering, Sleeping Under the Stars, and Wood You Wanna?—I’ll review one today and the remaining five next week.
Cabin Fever (82713) is one of a few iridescent polishes in this collection. It’s a cranberry pink-to-caramel bronze duochrome with a metallic finish. The pink has a touch of plum; the bronze has a touch of antiqued gold.
Last month, I was nominated for another Blogger Recognition Award by a most hilarious blogger, Diversion3000. She’s not the typical blogger I follow (i.e., she doesn’t review nail polish and lipstick), but I’ve giggled and snickered at enough of her posts that I’ve become a follower of this engaging 8th grader. Thank you for the nomination, D3! (God, 8th grade was such a long time ago. strokes beard)

Five Facts About Me

My favorite color used to be red, but I’m not so sure anymore. I’ve been gravitating to blues and teals a lot! I wonder if that says anything about me. A fantastic read for those who like a bit of history. Image: amybutlergreenfield.com
