I’ve been making a habit of picking up one or two Flower nail polishes every time I make a Wal-Mart order—which is not all that often, so I have a lot more shades to get before accumulating the whole set. Ha!
I Lavendare You! (NP6) is a very whitened, milky pink-lavender pastel with subtle, sparkly, silver shimmer.
It applies fairly well for a such pastel shade, but it does require three coats for close-to-full opacity. You can see that it’s still a tad uneven, though.
The sparkle isn’t very obvious unless you’re looking at it under bright light:Read More »
After being quite happy with my first Flower Beauty Nail Lacquer, Berry Begonia, I went and bought another one (hey, we needed storage bins from Wal-Mart). This time I chose a shimmer finish.
Evening Primrose is, despite being seemingly named for a flower that is typically a chipper pastel yellow or pink, is an almost-vampy teal shimmer with hints of pinkish-plum shimmer. It always threatens to flash purple, but never does, and takes on an odd muddy tone. Perhaps it is named for this darker Evening Primrose, instead.
While I don’t make it a habit to shop at that retailer, I recently ended up placing a Wal-Mart Canada order for an item I couldn’t find elsewhere, and I noticed that Flower had arrived in Canada (since 2014, apparently). Being the nail polish collector that I am, one bottle of Flower’s Nail’d It Nail Lacquer was added to my order! Sigh.
Therefore, despite the evils of Wal-Mart, I secretly wanted to like Berry Begonia, the Nail’d It color that I picked solely because I thought it looked like a vampy shade of Marsala, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2015.
