Today, I’m reviewing the second shade, Shakudo, which is starting to feel like YetAnotherRoseGold! Shakudo is a sparkly metallic rose gold with a decidedly coppery tone (China Glaze’s Meet Me in the Mirage, by comparison, is cooler and pinker).
The name Shakudō comes from the Japanese term for rose gold: basically a copper and gold alloy.
Earlier this fall, Swedish fast-fashion kings H&M launched their cosmetics line, and I finally had a chance to check it out last month. Of course, I made a beeline through all the skincare, fragrance (had a quick sniff of a rose scent, meh), bath & body stuff, and even the eyeshadows (perhaps it was the store lighting, but I wasn’t drawn to them), and went straight to a quite large selection of nail polishes! I picked up one iridescent color and made my way around to pay, but then I was sidetracked by what was the “front” of the new cosmetics display.
Apparently, I’d initially walked in through the back of the beauty department. In the front were stacks of nail polish and lipstick gift sets, and special holiday shades, which suddenly looked way more appealing than the sad little iridescent polish I had in my hand. It sat right back down and two other polishes and a lipstick came home with me.
Today, I’m reviewing Space Race, a whitened silver holographic shimmer. I don’t have a huge holo collection, so this is decidedly unique in my stash!
Since November is my birthmonth and it also coincides with Sephora’s fall VIB sale and seemingly worldwide Black Friday sales, I was a very spendy girl this month!
I do have to admit that it’s really nice having extra birthday money to spend when all the sales come out of the woodwork. I’m also coming off a semi-successful low-buy, so I gotta say the shopping was fun!
I’ll just dive right into them. Here are the items that are in my possession. I’ll do a Part II when the rest of the ordered items show up.
I hope you have fun reading this, and that you’ll comment if you’ve tried anything I got! I look forward to checking out others’ hauls (I always love to read them, even though they make my wishlist grow like crazy!). The prices I’ve added are calculated after sales and eBates cashback.
First off, my Shoppers Drug Mart haul from last Saturday! I redeemed 95k Optimum Points for $200 worth of products. I spent $23 on a gift, and the rest was a nice birthday haul:
