Haulage! Clinique GWP at Hudson’s Bay (Spring 2016)

Clinique Bonus Time is awesome, in my opinion, especially when they’re offering it with an adorable makeup bag! This month, Hudson’s Bay is running a Clinique GWP with a makeup bag designed in conjunction with German/English graphic studio Kapitza. No, I never heard of them before, either—but their strong, colorful, graphic prints are right down my alley!

Check out the bag’s double-sided prints:

Now, I’m usually good at resisting the siren call of the GWP, but this time they were offering a deluxe-sized (read: smaller) Pop Lip Colour + Primer in one of two shades (Melon Pop and Love Pop), and I’ve been wanting to try that lipstick for months! So, this GWP was to be mine!

The GWP can be had with any CA$31 Clinique purchase, and what luck! The Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, which I’ve also been eyeing ever since it was released last year, is CA$34. I picked up 7 Cream Chamois (VF-G), which I’d swatched in store and decided was a decent match for me—generally NC25-30 depending on the season, though I haven’t been colormatched at MAC in forever! (I remember being matched anywhere from NC20-NC35, so…who knows? I guess each product is different, too.)

Isn’t it weird, though, that this shade, 7 Cream Chamois, is coded as “VF-G”, which I assume means “Very Fair – Golden”? How on earth is that a very fair shade?! I think this was the lightest “golden” shade they had, too. And it’s not that light! Clinique are such weirdos. I’ve worn all kinds of strange foundation shade names from them, like “Ivory” and “Vanilla” and “Neutral”. WTH? On what planet is my skintone “Ivory”?! Anyway, I hope this works well for me. I haven’t had the best of luck with my skin lately, so I want a little extra coverage these days.
