China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Free Bear Hugs

China Glaze — Free Bear Hugs (Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: China Glaze 2015 Fall, The Great Outdoors

Welp, my low-buy’s not going that great! I spotted a slew of colors from China Glaze’s new fall collection, The Great Outdoors, at Winners and decided to pick up…several. This is the first China Glaze collection I’ve been wowed by for some time now! I got Cabin Fever, Check Out the Silver Fox, Free Bear Hugs, Pondering, Sleeping Under the Stars, and Wood You Wanna?

Free Bear Hugs (82714) is an intensely deep blood red cream with a browned-berry tone. It has a jelly formula, and reminds me of Essie Clutch Me If You Can in both color and consistency.

Revlon — Vixen (Nail Enamel) Swatch & Review

Vixen is an oldie, and what a goodie! This is a deep plum-brown-red, but it’s not completely blackened. I’m using the newer (single gold band) Revlon formulation, and I find that this requires three coats to even out properly. It’s not the end of the world; most vampy cremes I’ve used are the same. Vixen is lovely, luscious, and very classic. It’s not quite so dark as Chanel Vamp and Essie Wicked (two other vampy faves of mine), but it’s a great and inexpensive way to get a very similar look. Rating: 4/5.
