A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.
Once again, butter LONDON have partnered with Pantone to release an Ultra Violet-inspired makeup collection which includes, of course, six new shades of purple Nail Lacquer.
The Nail Lacquers come in 6 mL “fashion-sizes” and are $10 each:
Pantone just announced that Color of the Year 2017 will be Greenery (web color #88B04B), a bright, medium-toned yellow-green! I totally love that kind of color, and am going to be happy to rock it all year long—especially since I wasn’t all that keen on 2016’s double bill of Serenity and Rose Quartz (baby blue and baby pink).
butter LONDON has a collaboration out with Pantone, so you can actually buy the exact color in nail polish form. I don’t have it, though, so I rummaged through my nearby Helmers to see if I could grab a similar pea green shade for today’s swatch.
(Some polishes I’ve swatched in the past that fall into this yellow-green category are: Misa Gravitron, OPI My Gecko Does Tricks, Zoya Midori, and Zoya Tilda. I used to have a Misa called Green with Envy, as well, but I believe it’s closer to this L’Oréal—possibly even more yellow—than it is to Greenery.)
New Money (108) by L’Oréal is the closest I could find with a cursory search, so here it is. I’ve been jonesing for it for some time, and finally picked it up in a L’Oréal haul back in late spring. It’s rather a lighter shade of green than Greenery is, and definitely more yellow, but it’s kind of in a similar range. The color is right on the edge of being pastel, and it’s quite bright.
butter LONDON have collaborated with color experts Pantone for a Color of the Year 2017 collection! The color of next year’s moment is Greenery, a yellow-green.
I just love all the shades in this new collection! There are both brights and neutrals that complement each other brilliantly.
As a side note, butter LONDON have taken to referring to their original line of 3-Free Nail Lacquers as Trend Lacquers, even though the newer bottles drop the 3-Free and just say Nail Lacquer. Consistency is all I ask!
The opulent artistry of butter LONDON and influential edge of PANTONE, the global color authority, combine forces in an uplifting color collaboration.
Inspired by GREENERY, the PANTONE Color of the Year, this oh-so-alive color collection celebrates the essence of natural beauty. Say hello to a range of fiercely feminine, wildly luxurious color, infused with vitality and pure ebullience.
The six new shades are:
Bodacious, vibrant lilac crème
Buttercream, warm off-white crème
Calypso Coral, coral pink crème
Caramel Cafè [sic], warm caramel brown
Greenery (Color of the Year), yellow green crème
Rich Gold, warm golden shimmering beige

The shades also come in 6 matching lipglosses (except for the green, which is a white shimmer with some green in it).
I guess butter LONDON are running out of those British-inspired names, as well! Can’t say I’m too excited by these polish color names, though I suppose Pantone would have come up with “Greenery”.
