fivezero's Sephora VIB Sale Haulage (November 2017)

Haulage! Sephora VIB Sale (November 2017)

As a VIB member at Sephora, the annual 20% off VIB sale was open to me on Friday, November 10, and I’ve since placed two orders, even though I was trying to limit myself to just the first. This always happens, and I blame November being my birthday month so usually I give myself a little more license to splurge.

Sephora VIB Sale, November 2017

(Look at that fine print! I never realized this but we “clients” are limited to 1 Dyson item and 5 Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes per transaction; Canadians are also limited to 3 Fresh, Yves Saint Laurent, and Dior items per transaction.)

Of course, for the last couple of months, I’ve been anticipating this sale. I’ve been chucking things in and out of my shopping cart (it helps that I don’t bother to consider brands I can get at Shoppers Drug Mart / beautyBOUTIQUE, like Urban Decay, Dior, Estée Lauder, Smashbox, and Clarins).

Here’s the list of stuff I hauled, the freebies, and the stuff I wanted to haul but didn’t!

Once again, I bought more lipstick (granted, they were all marked down before the 20% discount) even though I need ’em like I need a hole in the head.

Stuff I Hauled

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette [C$59]
I’ve loved the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette that I got during last November’s VIB sale! It was a no-brainer to get the Sweet Peach palette this year.

I already picked up the previous Sparkle Like a Unicorn set, so obviously I had to get this one, too. It comes with a lipstick and a sheet mask! I’ve never tried any non-nail polish things from Nails Inc., so this will be interesting.

New Release: The Face Shop × The Simpsons (Summer 2017)

Unfortunately, there are no nail polishes in this collaboration between Korean cosmetics brand The Face Shop (owned by LG) and Fox’s The Simpsons. It’s a collection of sunscreens, hand creams, body oil, and sheet masks.

Hula Marge on the Tanning Oil is my favorite!

111SKIN — Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask Review

On the Election

Well…I guess I’m going to need more popcorn for the next four years. The new US President Elect’s victory speech was unexpectedly conciliatory. I can only hope he will rise to the occasion and prove half the electorate—including me—wrong. Good luck, USA.

Review of 111SKIN Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask

I got this sheet mask in my August Ipsy bag and finally got around to using it last week. It’s most definitely the fanciest mask I’ve ever tried, since it’s from a luxury British skincare brand, 111SKIN, and retails for GBP£20. For one, single-use mask. Which is also made in Korea.

I’m actually not very big on sheet masks, and have only tried a few different kinds, so I won’t be able to do a really in-depth comparison. To be honest, I didn’t sleep very much last night, so I’m going to keep this very short!

From 111SKIN:

The Bio Cellulose Mask uses the latest in face mask technology to instantly transport beneficial nutrients into the skin and provide instant hydration

111SKIN Bio Cellulose Mask utilises the most advanced mask technology on the market to deliver beneficial nutrients into the dermis. The mask adheres to your face like a second skin. The gel like structure of the mask will instantly cool and regulate body temperature. Since the fibres of the masks are 500x finer than tissue masks, the bio cellulose instantly locks moisture into your skin and enables a deeper penetration of three key ingredients that we have added. This mask contains Arbutin to brighten, Silk Amino Acids to condition and Centella Asiatica to stimulate collagen production.

The mask is interesting: a thin gel-like sheet, sandwiched between two pieces of gauze that protect it in the package. You gently remove the gauze on either side of the mask, and place it over your face.
