L'Oréal Colour Riche Nail Color in Tweet Me, swatch

L’Oréal — Tweet Me (Colour Riche Nail Color) Swatch & Review

Collection: L’Oréal Spring 2012, Colour Riche Nail Color

I originally swatched this for a Throwback Thursday post, but then I realized it’s not quite old enough, being from a 2012 collection. So, here it is on a Tuesday!

Tweet Me (101) is an adorable canary yellow with golden shimmer. It is, most unfortunately, on the sheer side.

The name is, obviously, inspired by social media site Twitter, and should you wish to do as the polish says, click here.

The Face Shop × The Simpsons (Summer 2017)

New Release: The Face Shop × The Simpsons (Summer 2017)

Unfortunately, there are no nail polishes in this collaboration between Korean cosmetics brand The Face Shop (owned by LG) and Fox’s The Simpsons. It’s a collection of sunscreens, hand creams, body oil, and sheet masks.

Hula Marge on the Tanning Oil is my favorite!

Cosmetic Love (referral link) has all on sale right now.

Happy shopping!

Throwback Thursday! American Apparel — Butter (Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Happy Thanksgiving, USA!

Collection: American Apparel 2010 Winter, Nail Lacquer [Launch]

Today’s Throwback Thursday was released in American Apparel’s 2010 Summer collection, shortly after this line of polish launched in Winter 2009. I have my thoughts on this line of polish, and about the company itself, in my post about another shade, Dynasty.

Butter lives up to its name. It’s a pale, whitened yellow cream. There is a very slightest hint of dustiness to the color.

Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer in Look, Don't Tusk, swatch

Color Club — Look, Don’t Tusk (Professional Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Color Club 2014 Spring, Safari Garden

I scored a pack of six Color Club polishes, plus a clear top coat, marked down to CA$5 at Winners.

Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer, Safari Garden collection

The Color Club packs sold at Winners are typically unlabeled, but the colors all looked like the ones in Color Club’s Spring 2014 Safari Garden collection. I’ll have to label the bottles myself.

Look, Don’t Tusk (1021) is a bit unusual in my collection: a whitened, creamy beige with a tinge of khaki. It is certainly a bit reminiscent of the ivory for which it’s named, perhaps with a touch more yellow than I’d have imagined.

Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer in Je ne sais quoi, swatch

Color Club — Je ne sais quoi (Professional Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Color Club 2014 Spring, Paris in Love

I scored a pack of six Color Club polishes, plus a clear top coat, marked down to CA$5 at Winners.

Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer, Paris in Love collection

The Color Club packs sold at Winners are typically unlabeled, but the colors all looked like the ones in Color Club’s Spring 2014 Paris in Love collection. I’ll have to label the bottles myself.

Je ne sais quoi (1039) is a turmeric-stained mustard yellow cream which has a clear, slightly jellyish quality: not like the chalky mustards that I have previously seen. Obviously, this is not a color for everybody, and I don’t think it’s for me, either. But I’m always drawn to a mustard yellow, even if it doesn’t suit me well!

This polish comes from a French-inspired collection from Color Club, yet it definitely has more of a spicier English mustard about it than a paler French Dijon. Its name, however, forgoes the predictable mustard reference for the French phrase, je ne sais quoi, meaning “a pleasing quality that cannot be exactly named or described”.

I personally am a big fan of mustard, and we usually keep a couple varieties of Kozlik’s Canadian mustard in the fridge, particularly Balsamic Fig & Date and Lemon & Basil. (Their empty jars are also perfect for my spice drawer!)

Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer in Macaroon Swoon, swatch

Color Club — Macaroon Swoon (Professional Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Color Club 2014 Spring, Paris in Love

I scored a pack of six Color Club polishes, plus a clear top coat, marked down to CA$5 at Winners. Less than a dollar per bottle?! Yes, please!

Macaroon Swoon (1036) should probably have been named Macaron Swoon, but I guess that wouldn’t rhyme well (macaroons are cakelike cookies, and macarons are French confections with filling; both are almond-based, though).

All I know is I’d really like one of each right now, please.

Anyway, this is a lovely, pastel buttercream yellow!

Misa Nail Lacquer in Tumble Bug, swatch

Misa — Tumble Bug (Nail Lacquer) Swatch & Review

Collection: Misa 2014 Summer, Riding All the Rides at the County Fair

Today’s polish is from Misa, one of my fave polish brands, but I’ve been remiss in reviewing them! I picked up a bunch of Misas late last year, so that should spur me on in posting more Misa swatches these days.

All the polishes in Misa’s 2014 Summer collection are named for amusement park rides. Tumble Bug, named for this ride, is a bright, lemon pudding-yellow cream.
