Collection: Essie Fall 2012, Stylenomics I confess that I bought Miss Fancy Pants almost entirely because of its name, but hey, it was on clearance! It’s a mushroom grey creme with a gentle hint of lavender undertone. Application was nice: I really only needed two thin coats, but did three in the photo just to […]
Collection: Essie Spring 2011, French Affair The weather’s been unpleasant here lately—no sun at all—so I’m posting a photo of Coat Azure, taken earlier this week, to brighten up this dreary Friday! It’s the color of the sky on a bright and beautiful day, with silver shimmer to bring to mind a sun-glittered sea. Can […]

Both required 3–4 coats for full opacity, which is a little irritating. Lapis of Luxury, unlike the medium-to-deep, vibrant […]
Collection: Misa Fall 2012, Wanderlust I’ve had this one for a while, but am wearing it now for the first time. (That seems to happen too often!) Frozen in Time is a deepened and slightly greyed periwinkle. The finish is mostly creme, but there is a small sprinkling of pink shimmer in it. I love […]
Collection: OPI Spring 2006, Mexico This is an oldie and a goodie. Cozu-Melted in the Sun is a semi-sheer, microglittery light copper with peach tones. It’s almost got a rose-gold look to it (not quite enough pink tones). I love this one for summer.
Collection: China Glaze Winter 2008, Bahama Blues Finally, a pastel polish with great application! Bahamian Escape is a bright sky/baby blue creme requiring only two coats for even, opaque coverage. I don’t even hate it on my yellow-toned hands. And, as it’s Good Friday, my week of trying on pastel shades is done, and I […]
