Collection: China Glaze Spring 2010, Up & Away This is definitely the kind of polish that I have a love/hate relationship with. Lemon Fizz is a pastel yellow (not pretty on my yellow-toned skin) that needs at least three coats to smooth out, and even then it isn’t close to being streak-free. On the other […]
Collection: China Glaze 2004, Patent Leather II I don’t love the application of China Glaze Groovy Green, as it is a little too liquid and requires four thin coats for reasonably full opacity. If you just want a sheer wash of very light pastel green, however, then this is great. Nevertheless, this is a pretty […]
Collection: Zoya Spring 2011, Intimate Normally I shudder at the thought of wearing pastels, but this one kind of is and kind of isn’t. Caitlin is a soft, greyed blurple creme. It goes more periwinkle under indoor light, and a bit more denim blue in the sun. My kind of Easter color. Perfect Zoya application.
Collection: Essie Winter 2012, Leading Lady Essie’s hit it out of the park with this one! Where’s My Chauffeur? is my new favorite turquoise creme: it’s a clean and vibrant color, leans a little to the blue side, and is a dream to apply. Yes! I anticipate wearing this one a lot all spring and […]
I recently picked up two turquoise cremes, Essie Where’s My Chauffeur? and Zoya Wednesday, and I wanted to compare them side by side with two older ones I have, China Glaze For Audrey and Essie Turquoise & Caicos. All are opaque cremes, except Turquoise & Caicos which is a bit sheerer. As you can see […]
Collection: Zoya Summer 2011, Sunshine Apple is a very sparkly semi-sheer green loaded with green and golden-green metallic microglitter. It’s fairly opaque on its own after three thin coats, but it would work great layered over other colors. A perfect pedicure polish for the summer, and quite mesmerizing on the fingers, too.
Collection: Zoya Summer 2012, Beach Here’s another spring green, except it’s a shimmer this time. And, it applies very nicely. Tracie is, like Essie Navigate Her, a light, slightly pastel green, much like a pistachio. Tracie’s a little greener and more saturated. Its shimmer is tonal and subtle but definitely there. I think I definitely […]
